1930s filmmaking technology called "rear projection" used a projector positioned behind the screen casting a reversed image of the background. This led to washed out backgrounds compared to the foreground.
With today's computer software this ancient technique lives a revival. For some applications it's much easier to handle than chromakey. Also the filmmaker has less work as she or he has to shoot the scene only once. Positioning the camera is easier, too.
I'm using my "AVK Panorama Backdrop". I will release the backdrop videos and the "AVK Diesel Train Scene Set" as soon as possible. There are some things to do first.
