THE UNOBTAINABLES is a weekly 1/2 hour black comedy with music, set in a wealthy suburb in New Jersey. It is the story of the aftermath of a one-night stand between Catalina, a black American bisexual chanteuse and Doug, a white American professional tennis player who met while Doug was competing in the French Open. In a twist of fate, Catalina and Doug reunite 25 years later in New Jersey. Doug and his wife, Ryman go out for their wedding anniversary and end up at Catalina's nightclub. Catalina tells Doug they have a son together. She scolds Doug for not telling her he was married and had an 8 year old daughter at the time. Since Catalina's club is restricted, a hate crime is committed and a tragic fire burns the club down. In the frenzy of the fire, Doug selfishly saves Catalina. Ironically, Bishop, their son, saves Doug's wife. With nowhere to live, Doug invites Catalina and their son, Bishop, to live with his bisexual wife Ryman, and his 30-something prejudiced corporate executive daughter, Donna.
THE UNOBTAINABLES asks the question: How far will you go... to get what you can't have?
It’s “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” meets “Soul Train”.
