Hello everyone.

I thought I'd make a quick post to say hello, and to let you all know that I've just started work as Moviestorm's Technical Author.

Many of you will already know me, but for those who don't: my name is Johnnie Ingram, and I'm a member of the Scottish machinima pioneers Strange Company. I'm Strange Company's Head of Beverage Acquisition and Caffeine Replenishment, and I was First Assistant Director on the feature-length punk fantasy BloodSpell. I'm also the former Site Editor of Machinima.com, and the co-author of the recently-published Machinima For Dummies.

My job at Moviestorm is to get the current documentation system up-to-date, as well as to write documentation for those aspects of the program that haven't had a lot of tutorial-based attention thus far (Cutting Room, Modder's Workshop, etc).

I've been lurking on these forums for quite some time, but you can expect to see a more active presence from now on. For now, I'll sign off, but please do feel free to contact me directly through a P.M. on these forums or an email to johnnie DOT ingram AT moviestorm DOT co DOT uk (or, if you're attending the European Machinima Festival, find me there and say hello in person!).

Excellent (insert Mr Burns finger movement).
Really pleased you're here J, I will certainly appreciate your help with the new modder's workshop, and newbies will be dancing in circles praising the skies if we can have some decent starter tutorials.
Not an enviable task, keeping everything up to date with current betas but
I'm sure you will do a wonderful job.
Welcome indeed

It is nice to see you aboard the SF boat. I am a bit star struck at rubbing virtual shoulders with such big names in machinima.

I would like to thank you for the fantastic work you did on MfD. I liked it a lot. I'm sure that what you will do to help will be as good.

Welcome.

My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely.

May the Muses inspire you today.

Wow. Thanks very much for your enthusiastic welcome, everyone. I feel quite pressured now ... so many people expecting so much of me ... I can't take this! I quit!

Actually, it hasn't been a great day so far. I've spent the day trying to get up to speed with the latest version of MS (I've been using the version that shipped with Machinima For Dummies, which is pretty out-of-date now). I got so confused, and couldn't even create a shot. Eventually, I gave up and called Ben S over, who helpfully pointed out that the button I was looking for, "Set Up A New Shot" has been renamed "Move The Camera". That small change was enough to totally stump me for about half an hour. This does not bode well for my ability to document every intricacy of the program

...actually, that encourages me that you are going to find everything that is not obviously intuitive!

This is good news! To quote a Disneyland attraction "It's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" This is just one more reflection of just how good Moviestorm is!
Congrats- (PS love Machinima for Dummies - very informative)

Hi, Johnnie! I've once put together a user's guide for a game using input from a gaming community after the developer long ago closed their doors. I used print-on-demand publishing and the proceeds went to the forum owner. Had a blast putting it together. Sifting through the information and laying it out was quite a challenge. Glad to see you here, Johnnie and your expertise will be appreciated by all of us. Now if my poor pupets only had shadows - they feel SO INHUMAN!!!! They complain, go on strike, refuse to do any scenes at all!!!

Glad to see you in there, Mr. Ingram! I envy the fun you're going to have (having?) and await with enormous anticipation the modder's workshop documentation!

No pressure; no rush. (yeah right!)

The forecast is - MOVIESTORM!
