There's a new update available for you which Moviestorm should download for you automatically.

Here is the news:
* Characters can now perform activities with held props in several different groups. These groups cannot be moved past each other on the timeline to help ensure consistency. The held prop track also includes a tickbox to vanish the prop away at the end of a sequence that would not otherwise do so.
* Changed sitting resources to allow gestures or held props to animate the arms while characters are sitting down
* Choosing props in the Set Workshop is now a bit easier thanks to a "Tag Cloud" and we will be adding more tags to make this easier still.
* You can now play back a video on any surface of a prop that otherwise allows a user image. NOTE: this facility is still experimental and may cause Moviestorm to slowdown.
* Fixed issue intoduced in Beta 2.1 where Pointing or Looking at a prop or camera would not work.

Enjoy!

[UPDATE]
If you're having problems downloading automatically, you can download the patches manually from
http://www.moviestorm.co.uk/download/Moviestorm-Beta2.1.1-update.zip

Unzip that into your Program Files\Moviestorm folder and then run AutoUpdate.exe

If you haven't updated to Beta2.1.0 yet you will first need to get
http://www.moviestorm.co.uk/download/Moviestorm-Beta2.1.0-update.zip

Which format? avi? wmv? (It'll save us some time experimenting! )

Playing movies on surfaces: IN the directors view, right click on the prop with the custom image material, and select the 'Play Video' verb.

Avi's outputted from moviestorm seem to work; not found anything else that does, so far, although I suspect it should be possible to use the exact same codec we do. It is definatly worth trying avi's.

I'm getting quite a bit of crashing too. I can seem to replicate one way of crashing as many times as I'd like. The one way it crashes is if I scroll something, the scroll noise will never end. Then, when I scroll something else, both noises will be going, and then Moviestorm will crash.

Also, the message I get when logging in while in the program when I launch it is replaced with this :

Normally, I'd get something along the lines of, "Would you like to stay signed in as CPT Destroyer?" or something like that. Instead, I get that. Any way of fixing these issues?

I noticed crashing with v 2.1 (and now 2.1.1)* when I would try to run MS IE at the same time, so I quit using the browser at the same time I ran Moviestorm.

I notice that there is an online "help" that utilizes my browser, so I suppose we can't really say, "don't use the browser".

*before 2.0, I could use the browser w/out incident.

My issues are happening without my browser on. I only had Moviestorm running.

There does seem to be a random element to this, but scrolling could definitely be one of the factors, I am getting the neverending noise.
I ma using Ie7 simultanously also. This has never ben a problem before.

hey ho, looks like the one armed bandit swallowed my change this update

Not a fix, but as a workaround, am I remembering right that the interface sounds can be turned off? Forgive me, I'm not sitting in front of it. Would be interesting to know if the crashing still occurs with the audio (or just the interface audio) switched off. (would possibly help determine if the audio glitch is a symptom or more of a cause)

Did either of you lose access to any projects / data or anything?

I'll try turning off the button noises now. And no, I didn't lose any data or anything. Thankfully.

Update:

I turned off the button noise, and it doesn't crash. So, apparently, it's the noise that's crashing it. Somehow.

I haven't tried the video editor inside of Moviestorm, but I also haven't been able to play videos. I also tried all video formats.
