What I do and I don't know if it will help you is to go into the movie.mscope file and delete the line - it is second from the last that refers to cell shading, resave the file as movie.mscope and then start the program again.
Hi Lucinda
I can't seem to find the file I've searched through MS but no joy. Where do I look?

Hi Lucinda

Go into documents and settings, your name, Moviestorm and you will see a folder called Movies. Click on the folder for the movie you are working on and in that list you should find the movie.mscope file. To view it I use Winrar. I just click on view in Winrar. Then I select all and copy it to a text file - I use notepad for that. I change the file I want to change and I save it as movie.mscope.
Thanks for that Lucinda, but I feel with the problems I'm having with the unexpected quits from moviestorm its proving to be a non goer at the moment.
has any one else expereinced problems with unexpected quiting and managed to sort it out or am I on my own at the moment with this one? (goes to the corner for a sulk)
