Yeah, by default it renders as an .MPEG wrapped with .AVI (or something like that). If I stay with that, ramp it up to 'ultra' and leave it at 25fps it seems to work - and look pretty darn good.

Howdy!

I have another n00b question ready to fire. I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro, partitioned the HDD to run Vista, and I'm having a blast (I can run UT3 maxed! WIN!).

So I want to fire up MS and make some movies. I'm going through the process of installing the program and getting all of the content I purchased before onto this computer.

So my question is this:

I'm at the My Downloads page. I see Pioneer 1 and Base Beta 2. Do I need them? Pioneer 1 is a pretty hefty download if I don't need it. I think I downloaded it on my dad's computer when I last played with MS, but I'd prefer to skip downloading it this time around if I don't need it (space is rather precious on this partitioned drive).

Well, this thread has been going longer than I've been using Moviestorm, so I'll just tell you that Pioneer 1 is not an option I have when I start up the program.

The Pioneer pack contains props that were in the Beta 1.x releases (i.e., the closed beta cycle), but were removed when MS went into open beta (Beta 2.x and onward). Many, but not all, of the assets in the Pioneer pack have been duplicated in later AddOn releases. (The pack itself was only made available to Pioneers - users who were in on the closed Beta - to avoid breaking movies they may have been working on during the transition from Beta 1.x to Beta 2.x)

Basically, you can probably live without it... unless you've got some sets in your stock that you built during the Beta 1 days and used some of those discontinued props.

Ditto Base Beta 2: it contains props that were deprecated in the transition from Beta 2 to Early Access 1.0

AHH, that's what I was guessing. I remember them from the closed beta, and that's why I wasn't certain whether or not I had to still download them. That answers my question Thanks!
