In film school I made a bunch of short films, mostly on 16mm. Recently I've been focusing on high def video. I just shot a low budget sci-fi action feature. I plan to start work on the VFX soon using 3DS MAX, Vue 5, and Mirage.

I'm using The Movies for now. My studio page is: http://movies.lionhead.com/studio/Toriel
I've also made some frame by frame animations and a few 35mm movies in school.
I have tons of ideas but am a slow worker. The unfortunate bugs in The Movies prevent me from making more. The scene duplicating and shuffling makes it a pain as you almost constantly have to reshoot or reorder scenes.
I'm pretty sure this program will not have those kinds of problems

Done a few things, including the film-stupidity-on-my-mobile Have always wanted to make movies. I've made two crappy short movies using my old camera that could do 13 secs of video at a time. Very interesting process.
I've recorded various every-day stuff with my videocamera, though haven't been particularly inspired with any new ideas on what to make a real movie about.
And also, like a few of the peoples below, I've also been using The Movies. Yes, we're like a plague My handiwork is viewable over here.

Just two machinima.
I also took about two hours of my mom's old silent super8mm family films from the 1950s, '60s and '70s that my sister had transfered to video tape and edited them together for a documentary-style DVD. I put them to songs I selected from each era. Don't know if that counts, but the family loved it.

The forecast is - MOVIESTORM!

Hello all...just checking out the forums.
Yeah I've made more Machinima moves(The Movies, Battlefield 2) than i have made Live Action(maybe 2 for fun) - but i enjoy doing both, it's just easier to do it on my own with The Moves.
if you want to check out any of my things goto

I worked as a tv producer (and a journalist) for a portuguese channel, but on the news department. So, the closest i ever was from film business was really in playing with "The Movies" game.
I made a first small movie and had a lot of plans for future ones, but quickly became disapointed with that game and the lack of options so i left the forums and then...lika a dream come true, i was told about Moviestorm. I feel this has a lot of potencial to became a great tool.
If you guys want to see my only try with Machinima (just a small movie i made at the time to learn how to work with "The Movies") just go to:

I was a Studio Executive for physical feature productions at Fox and UA. Then after doing that for about 15 years I began to Line Produce Features and Long Form TV. (My resume is on IMDB.com under Michael R. Joyce) Finally a rare spinal disease made me hang up my production shoes and I retired. Not a moment too soon, based on the way the Industry is going. At 55 I'm too old to keep on "proving" myself to the young turks in the Industry.
In any event I've spent the past 4 years noodling around in the world of computers and after many attempts to reinvent myself I stumble on Machinima. Tried many programs and settled on The Movies as a possible pre-viz solution as well as a storytelling medium. But now I am very interested in the possibilities of MovieStorm, not in the very least that you own your product.
Whatever happens, I believe that this new medium will have a very fruitful future.

Yep. Search for Still Searching on YouTube. I can't give you the link at the moment. My workplace blocks YouTube.

Okay. Here's the link to our four.

i made a video machinima but I rusthed it towards the end, and it could've turned out a lot better...
currently i am making one of tanith lee's short stories into a machinima... i am using sims2 (and my little sims like to way over act), so i am mainly working on keeping them in line, setting the mood, and camera shots, etc... so far, it's quite an artsy little film, and i think it looks fantastic, especially compared to a lot of movies i have seen (always looking for new machinima to watch)... i estimate it will be about a half-hour long, and so far i am only 10 minutes into it (plus some of my shots seem not quite perfect yet)... my biggest complaint about it... the file size.... it's huge...
anyways, thanks for listening to this long personal rant...
and most importantly, thanks for posting links to some of the work you have done !!!

I made my first movies with 8mm. Cheap cameras at first but finally moved up to a Bolex with an intervalometer and a zoom lever that was smoother than any other mechanical device I've touched before or since. Also, some Super 8 and 16mm films were made before I moved away from my co-conspirators in film making. Stop motion was our favorite type of filming, but we tried some live action vignettes as well.
A long break ensued until VHS came along. I studied 'Video Art' in Fort Lauderdale and got to meet Nam June Paik when he came to Florida.
Now I'm using DV and the camera mode of digital still cameras. Much fun was had recently by making a film with a $20 digital camera from WalMart and editing it with only freeware in an experiment to see how inexpensively a film could be made. The camera would only hold 17 seconds of video (at 6 fps!) in memory. I learned or re-learned two main points
1. The image quality of even the cheapest camera can be greatly improved by using a tripod.
2. Good content and tight editing are what make good movies.

I have made a couple of machinima movies. One called `Oh no its the end of the world again`which is on my website and machinima.com and a short series both using `the movies game`
Moviestorm sounds like it could be an amazing piece of software, and good to see so many people taking an interest.Hopefully this forum will stay active and encourage all machinima makers.
Dont you just hate it when you have over a thousand views of your movie and just a couple of comments or reviews posted? Even bad reviews would be OK at least it proves there is someone out there.
