One of the reasons I gave up on even considering use of iClone was the requirement of 3DS MAX to create content. I don't use it and have no plans to ever learn it, so that eliminated my ever being involved with iClone.
I hope Moviestorm will be more open. Simple support of wide formats like OBJ with associated mtl files, 3DS and other common formats should be considered a must. The same can be said for support of FBX, BVH and other common file formats for motions.
I currently use modo and Sketchup Pro for all my modeling. They can output the major common formats. To not support these formats would be a detriment.
I create Sci FI and Fantasy content for Poser, and I think I would love to create a variety of mods for a tool like Moviestorm, if it is open enough for it to be possible.

It looks like supporting Poser is going to be nigh on impossible. Poser's characters are constructed in a completely different way to game characters, and I don't think we can find a way to convert one into t'other.
You could maybe, with a bit of messing around and the right plugins, export from Poser into Max, do the conversion in Max, then export from Max to Moviestorm, but I wouldn't swear to it.
Maybe not for importing the animated meshes (which tend to become huge), but as a "poor man's" Motionbuilder?
It can export bvh files.
BTW I model in Shade and Silo, and animate in Shade Poser Vue and Lightwave, depending on what I need to animate.
I have been looking around for realtime or nearly-realtime animation solutions for rapid previz architectural works, and Moviestorm might just be what I need.

I use Maya - I've played around a bit with importing into various game engines (mostly unreal) so I'm used to wrangling different file formats. Of course, the fewer the better.
