The following link http://s164.photobucket.com/albums/u9/MRJproductions/?action=view¤t=GreenScreensonMainStreet.flv is another Green Screen test. I was intrigued by the Green screen work in "Sin City" and wanted to try a simple street scene.

Basically this is a photograph of a building with cast puppets exiting and entering. The effect was achieved by building a wall in Moviestorm. Then I put a door portal into the wall. Behind that wall and door I put a scalable backing. This would provide the covering for the puppets to disappear behind. Then the wall, the door portal and the backing I colored Green. I worked out the action of the cast puppets and rendered the scene (in blazing Green). I put the pieces together in Adobe Premiere using the Green Screen controls and rendered the footage.

I'm having trouble with the halo around the cast puppets and need to find a better solution to that. In order to make the green screen materials I ended up with three shades of green, perhaps that lent itself to the halo effect?

In the end the effect of the puppets entering and exiting the building works well, allowing another environment for the puppets to work in.

That's a fabulous clip!

I'm having trouble visualising your set...do you mean you were able to recolour a door, or did you use one of the archways?

Three colours green, I know what you mean...roll on linkable colours for shading props!

I saw a shadow on the ground..the man running across the street..did you add that afterwards, or blend it in somehow?
..and red long dress , a mod shop design?

It's wonderful to see what you're doing with this program MrJ!

That was a cool clip... I know who to come to for my chroma-keying problems... at least a couple of them (kkffoo, too)!

Great work!

Here are two stills of the set.

One in set mode

One in scene mode.

I couldn't simply recolor the arch portal which allowed the doorway to be made, so I discovered the simple prop door has a recolor selection when you right click on it. I adjusted the colors to try to match the green. If there were an Image selection, it would have been easier as I could use a Jpeg I have of Green. In any case I pasted it on over the "walk-through: doorway in order to hide the white door frame.

It was a shadow in the green scene. It became grey in the process.

The red dress was from my mod. There is a link to it here:http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u9/MRJproductions/JulietDresses.jpg

Fantastic. Looks great and the animations are too. I haven't done any modding yet except to put one of my images on a backdrop - so easy and the resolution is great -- the backdrop looks just like the hi res picture I used for it (one of my own photographs.

can't believe that I missed this when it first came out. wonderful, actually frighteningly different from how we thought Moviestorm would be used, but ... wow ... anyway!

has got us all scratching our heads and looking for new ways to break our thinking out of the box !

Nicely done! I see chroma key will be of major use in future movies.

Oh cool! I really have no idea how the actual program itself is used. Its cool that you showed that screenshot. I'm starting to get a general idea.

Yeah, that's what I've been seeing. I'm downloading the program as I type this. An estimated 59693483937521247 hours to go!

Very cool indeed! This makes me wish a Mac version was available so I could use my Final Cut software. The possibilities are staggering.
By the way, based on my experience, i would say that the different shades of green would cause some undesirable artifacts and an uneven look.
