We grew. The Moviestorm team says "hello" to the new guys:

* - Tom
* - Ivan
* - Eddz

And, though she has been helping us for a while, "hello" to Ann as well

More soon, as we hire and build up to put even more into Moviestorm!

You can find Julian's book on http://www.amazon.co.uk/Object-Oriented-Game-Development-Julian-Gold/dp/032117660X/sr=8-1/qid=1171617886/ref=sr_1_1/026-6010021-5414849?ie=UTF8&s=books or http://www.amazon.com/Object-Oriented-Game-Development-Julian-Gold/dp/032117660X/sr=8-11/qid=1171617956/ref=sr_1_11/104-8524668-0790360?ie=UTF8&s=books for our US members.

Book Description (from Amazon)
Games software has its roots in a "cottage" industry, ignoring formal methodologies, instead leaving the programmers to find homespun solutions to the technical problems faced. The picture has now changed- the scale of the problems faced by programmers means that more methodical techniques must be applied to game development to prevent projects spiralling out of control, both in terms of technical complexity and cost.
The book addresses how program teams can develop ever more complex entertainment software within the constraints of deadlines, budgets and changing technologies. It establishes a set of best practices tempered with real-world pragmatism, understanding that there is no "one size fits all" solution. No member of the game development team should be working in isolation and the book will be useful to producers, designers and artists as well as the programmers themselves.
In addition, the book addresses the needs of the growing number of Game Development courses offered in academia, giving students a much-needed insight into the real world of object-oriented game design.

Forgot to mention Andrew - he is a project manager helping us deliver things (more or less) on time. New people are coming on throughout this month and into March in a variety of roles.

To bring it all up to date, there are now normally 12 of us in the office (in no order):

Matt - founder, evangelist, and Lenin Look-a-like
Dave L - founder, CTO, and the Man Behind the Curtain
Ann - director of marketing, ex-smoker, fashion advisor to the team
Andrew - project manager and lover of incandescent thai food
Ben S - machinimator and arbiter of quality
Ben G - likes pasties, makes our web world work
Eddz - the acceptable face of Short Fuze and forum meister
Tom - 99% chocoholic and programmer of distinction
Julian - eats green string, also codes java remarkably well
Chris - artist, modder, pole dancer wrangler
Ivan - artist and positive argument for enlarging the EU
Me - shiny headed CEO and overweight cyber-athlete

Regular Visitors

Jack - non-exec and many other good things
Michael - finance and connoisseur of bacon butties

We all have a profile here somewhere as well.

In October, we were 4 people in a bedroom. My, how things change

Welcome David!

The fact that you've helped with TM should make things a bit easier for MS. That is very cool

My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely.

I can see that. I'm not too far from the Canadian border so it's all the Molson Ice I can drink and "Hockey Night in Canada" on the CBC. That's a little taste of heaven.

Gee sorry Eddz left. He was very helpful when I first got to be a beta tester. But Canada is closer to the US. Who may I ask was David P from The Movies? Or does he wish to remain incognito? Glad to see you made the move over here. This is wonderful software and a wonderful group of people. Very helpful and friendly.
