Max? Maya? Blender? Something Open Source? (I'd like to know as it might affect how we plan the importers for Moviestorm )

I use Maya at work, but I like both Lightwave & 3D Max which are what I use at home. For importing I think most software can save in 3DS.

MAX is the one I use although anything in a 3Ds format will be great. I also use Poser for some motions

I also use MAX and Poser. Will cel shading be an option in Moviestorm? I'd like to achieve that 2D/3D effect as seen in films like "Appleseed", and "Renaissance".

I use and am a big fan of Animation Master. The only issue I have with it is doesn't play well with others. In resent years a very good Direct X exporter was created. It exports mesh, animation and textures and I have been able to get the export into 3D GameStudio but not much else. You need to be careful when modeling also if you plan on exporting. I resently started using Lightwave 8.5 and have Truespace 5 and Milkshape 1.7.*?

Cel shading isn't yet available in the latest version of Moviestorm, although it's certainly something we have been considering for use later down the line. (We're all mad anime fans here ;)

I primarily use Lightwave so support for that would be really nice. Poser is also in my kit and since it is so reasonably priced I think it should be pretty high on your list for support. Blender is a no brainer since it has the best price to performance ratio out there.

I have and use Poser 5-7, Cinema 4D 6 CE+, Carrara 5, Hexagon 2 and Bryce 5-6. Got a little experience in Blender and start to learn XSI, great Price for it's features.
It would be great to have support for the free XSI Mod Tool/ Maya learning ED. Maya PLE would have the bonus of the free Motionbuilder learning ED.

I use Blender, mostly cuz my modelling skills don't justify using any 3d package that isn't free
But I'll happily learn any free 3d package that comes along.

It looks like supporting Poser is going to be nigh on impossible. Poser's characters are constructed in a completely different way to game characters, and I don't think we can find a way to convert one into t'other.
You could maybe, with a bit of messing around and the right plugins, export from Poser into Max, do the conversion in Max, then export from Max to Moviestorm, but I wouldn't swear to it.

I think we'll try and get a Blender/Moviestorm Asset Tutorial going at some point.
It's an excellent platform to use with Moviestorm (being free and remarkably tooled up).
I just need to find the time to quickly learn the package first!

I've used Animation Master and Cinema 4D for years (Poser when I had to).
Most of my 3D stuff displayed at my art site www.websitegraffiti.com was done in those two programs, but for the past year and a half I have been emersed in 3DS Max.
I used to love spline modeling in A:M98 and really enjoyed C4D's human-friendly interface, yet now I can barely remember how to get around in either program.
So, 3DS Max is what I will be using.
(sorry for the ramble)
