We're pleased to announce that the next Beta 2 update is now available. Moviestorm should offer you the option to download it automatically on start up.

There are many minor fixes and improvements as well as:
* Various performance enhancements that should improve load times, frame rate and responsiveness of the UI
* Characters will now use doors rather than walk through walls on their way to do activities such as sitting on a chair
* Fixed hang-on-return-from-charactershop bug on ATI cards.
* Mood editor-only-working-once fixed
* Characters can now look at cameras
* Template are now ordered in the Set Workshop alphabetically
* New colour chooser using a palette or RGB scales

NOTE: If you have problems getting the update automatically, you can download the patch manually here:
http://www.moviestorm.co.uk/download/Moviestorm-Beta2.0.2-update.zip
Unpack the contents to your Program Files/Moviestorm-beta2 directory and then run the AutoUpdate program directly.

I've mentioned it elsewhere, too... but a problem I've had with updating puppets (when I saved, I would get a white screen, and I would have to alt f4 to exit the program, then restart MS).

2.0.2 has resolved my puppet editing problem!

Thanks!

We finally had the right combination of hardware and software to duplicate your problem on some new computers. Glad it works for you too.

So a weird thing happened after downloading the latest patch - my movies look like they have to load twice before anything actually happens. That is, when I double-click the movie, the "please wait" screen shows up as usual, but then instead of fading to black and going to the director's view, it fades to black and goes back to the "please wait" screen again. Then I go to the director's view. The process doesn't take very long, but it still seems odd. Just thought I'd let you know. Don't know if it's my system or what...

I just wanted to let you know that my Moviestorm Beta 2 is now perfect after the last upgrade. And I don't know what you did, but shaders and pixel lighting now works on mine. I can even import my mods from my old program. The only thing I had a problem with was importing the cars that I made scalable or my miniature city. Even though I imported them, the option to make them scalable does not appear.

I have not had shadows/shaders since 2.0. Ditto with this release. I did pre 2.0 though.

Reptor, did you upgrade to 2.02? Because that is what fixed everything for me. There is a problem with the very first upgrade to 2.0. So if you did that one, then I suggest you uninstalll the program and then reinstall and avoid the very first upgrade. I think after the first one, there was another one that was a revised version. Then go on to 2.02 and you should be fine. Something happened between the 1.4 upgrade issued on 5/31 and the next 1.4 upgrade. As I had shaders on 5/31 but not after until this latest upgrade to 2.02.

Also you may want to wait to install the pioneer pack that had all the props and costumes we had with 1.4 until after you upgrade to 2.02. I did have some problems with that until I did all the upgrades and put Pioneer directory right under Moviestorm Beta 2.0 folder. Now everything works perfectly.

Yeah, the 2.02 auto downloaded. I'll tinker with it as soon as I finish a current project within a couple days. Appreciate the tip, lucindamc. I miss my shadows.

I feel like such a noob! I am getting ready to leave 1.4.3 behind and I want to know if I can install using the 2.0.0 exe file and upgrade straight to 2.0.2, or do I need to install 2.0.1 before applying the latest release.

The program will probably handle all of this for me (that's why I feel like such a noob asking this), but I want to make sure I do everything right the first time.

The forecast is - MOVIESTORM!

The auto updater downloads intermediate patches without you having to do anything extra. You should be able to install beta 2.0.0 and have it update straight to beta 2.0.2
