Wow - some awesome entries! I'll leave voting open for one week. It will officially close 9pm Eastern Time, Tuesday, 1/19/10. In the event of a tie there will be runoff voting, with the tied entries facing off against each other.

I have chosen my winner. I've shared it with Matt Kelland of Moviestorm, but I won't divulge it until after the user voting ends, so as not to influence you guys one way or another.

Thank you to everyone who entered - there were some really awesome entries. I'm sorry I can only choose one winner.

Now... vote vote vote smile.gif

PS - Entries in rough alphabetical order. Love 2.0 appears at the end because I missed it on the initial go because of the tag error huh.gif

[EDIT by Moviestorm] They're all listed in this playlist http://www.moviestorm.co.uk/community/inde...p;pla_id=100064

Is it possibe to put the movies in the list as hyperlinks so we don't need to search around for them?
Cheers.

Just look on the Movies featured films. They're all listed there. smile.gif

Just go to the movies page and use the tag "basecontest" (without the quotes). The only exception is Love 2.0. There was a small error with the tag, but Love 2.0 is featured on the main page smile.gif

I can only see 10 films listed as featured films. Clicking "Show more" doesn't show any more, so I wouldn't rely on the featured films to see them all.

Such a hard decision. There are a number of real winners here. Congrats to all entrants.

That being said, I can't help but think that there was one or more films that didn't exactly follow the contest rules and use only base pack content. Oh well, it just made the decision slightly less hard.

Really? We can see all 14 movies when we click on the featured films link in either the top or bottom bars. What browser are you using?

You should end up on this page: http://www.moviestorm.co.uk/community/inde...featured&c=

So it seemed at first to me. Really close inspection revealed that what I had thought was outside basepack was, in fact, very cleverly disguised basepack... winning even more admiration from me.

I see all of the films at that link. I was replying to the poster who stated that the movies were all featured movies. I must admit that I thought that http://www.moviestorm.co.uk/community/ was the featured movie page, and it only has 10 movies. However, "Show more" is now taking me to http://www.moviestorm.co.uk/community/inde...p;type=featured on this PC. The browser I using before was Firefox. I'll try it again on that laptop when I get the chance.

I think Gallowglass is the main culprit in many people's minds for violating the rules. I've talked to Poulet Noir, and he has not used any assets from outside the base pack. I've managed to duplicate many of his sets on my own. The buildings were houses, stacked together, the gym bag was a mailbox and chair, lowered using the ctrl+shift command to lower props. The round lights appear to be prims (though I didn't confirm that with him). The ID card was also (I believe) a prim.

As far as I can tell, every entry complied with the rules. If anyone thinks I missed something, please don't just vote for something else - let me know. I'd hate to think that a great film (whether Gallowglass or any other film) would be passed over by user votes because it looked "too good" to have been truly made in the base pack competition. If I've missed something, please let me know of any violations you see so that I can disqualify that entry.

Again - many thanks to everyone who entered. There really were some awesome movies entered in this competition!

It's a decision between two for me. One that does a shake and bake of the base pack and one that suffers with it. I think I know which I will choose.

Considering how many members we have I would have thought a few more votes would be achieved blink.gif

That IS strange. Maybe people are having trouble deciding?
