When your subscription has expired and the software forces you to this page, it would be useful to see what the comparative costs are for each option.
Just an idea™. (As it happens, I'm not interested in any of these options, I just need access to the software as I already have the content packs I need, but this option isn't visible at all...) -------------------- |

I didn't know what to do either so I just chose a content bundle package and bought it for a year and I was able to log onto Moviestorm program right after I did that. Couldn't figure out how to have the monthly subscription plan. I admit it is confusing and since it is confusing to those of us who have been around here for a year, I can imagine how confusing it is to new people. It was only $75.00 so it ended up being less expensive than the monthly subscription. I believe all the content packs I previously purchased are still going to be usable. I will open the program to that page and see what it says. If they aren't, i am not going to be happy to have to repurchase everthing but if I have to I will do it. -------------------- |

Yes, my issue with the whole damn subscription thing is nothing to do with value for money - and for what I've just paid, well frankly I think that Moviestorm could charge more - seriously!
My issue is that it's just too complicated. There's an old adage; to make it easy to sell, make it easy to buy, and this is where Moviestorm are missing a trick. (IMHO). It may well be that high end 3D tools are provided on a rental basis (I honestly have no idea), but I do know that if I buy MS Office, Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop (i.e. the other software that I regularly use) the pricing is dead easy to understand - you cough up, you get the software, and you don't have to worry that bits are going to fall off in the future. I know I've had a moan about this before, but it honestly amazes me that the subscription model is working at all for Moviestorm. Anyway, what do I know? -------------------- |

I agree, I don't think it is the price that is the problem but the complexity of it. There didn't seem to be any way to choose a monthly subscription that didn't cost less than $30 and that is way higher than it used to be. I didn't know what it meant to "rent" Moviestorm for a month unless that has replaced the old subscription model. So I just paid the $75 for a year and I guess that is correct and I won't be billed monthly and my subscription won't run out. Guess i will find out in a month. LOL.
I know the subscription system would be less expensive for most people if it was still $7.99 a month and included points and they wouldn't be forking out the entire amount for the whole package. But now i am think to be more competitive in the market, they should sell the basic package included one addon for $75.00 and then just sell the addons the way Iclone does. Their addons are less expensive than Iclone by far so I think that would be easier for people to understand. And perhaps instead of offering points, they should lower the prices for addons as new addons are added. We used to just buy the addons as they came out and they were more expensive when the basic program was free. So they have lowered the price of the addons a lot. So it is a good deal. Maybe some of us could come up with a way to explain this to new people so they would be encouraged to buy. -------------------- |

When you are looking at the new bundles there is a link for old subscription plans where you can continue under your previous plan...it's only available to members who had the old plans. I'll see if I can find exactly where it is.

Go to the marketplace, then under "My account" on the right, click "subscription plan". It should show what your current plan is, then underneath it is a link that says "click for our previous membership deals". If you are reading the section titled "how does it work" you've gone to far, it's right above that.

Funny thing is in my account it says it doesn't expire until March of 2844. I don't think I will be making movies then. In fact, I really doubt I will still be alive. LOL -------------------- |

If I read the new membership guidelines correctly, once you decided to go with the new plan and paid $75, you now have a life subscription. Where the old plans ended after one year, the new plan is a lifetime. That is the only reason I would see for putting 2844 as your renewal date. -------------------- The Harb40 Passion Competition now has it's own website.
