Having a problem importing a Sketchup model into the Modders Workshop. I have remade the Small Town addon I did a couple of years ago and made the house low poly as well as all the buildings in it and all the buildings textures are photographs for the most part, except for roof textures. This is lower poly than the previous one I made. This is the message I am getting when I try to import the whole town set into the Workshop. I have imported all the new buildings with no problem at all.
C:\wa]sketchup_trunk\googleclient\sketchup\source\sketchup\model\dib.cpp at Line 847 And I can't find that file on my C drive so I don't know where it is coming from. And then the program (Moviestorm) crashes. I have made higher poly sets I have imported into the workshop with no problem at all so I don't know what is causing this at all. -------------------- |

I'm afraid that I dont have a good idea of what to do when a sketchup model doesnt import, or where that error message refers to, sorry.

Could it be a reference in the sketchup script that is pointing to a nonexistent location? -------------------- Sango: "If it was really a miracle everyone would have been saved."

I have no idea why I am getting these messages in the Modder's Workshop. These are low poly props too, most of the buildings have about 20 faces or less and I have imported much higher poly props with no problems at all. I will look in the Moviestorm log text and see if I can figure it out.

Could it be a reference in the sketchup script that is pointing to a nonexistent location? Where do I find the Sketchup script? I think it is because there are too many textures. I reduced the textures from over 500 to 287 but it still would not import. When I checked in Sketchup and asked it to fix any problems, it didn't find any. The strange things is that I have an earlier version of the small town that is not as nice as this one and it is very high poly and yet it imported into the workshop fine, but then I did not have as many textures either. -------------------- |

That seems like a lot of textures for one model. I would sugest trying to get it down below 100, maybe.

That seems like a lot of textures for one model. I would sugest trying to get it down below 100, maybe. There are 71 buildings in this addon for the entire town and each building has from four to 6 textures, so what I am going to have to do is make small segments of the town as individual addons so that I can reduce each addon to 100 textures. I have each building as an individual prop too so the whole town can be built on set but the reason I like to set up the whole town as one prop is because it is easier of course to set up the set when when you only have to add one prop as well as dress the set with lights and paint the floor and add backdrops and trees. There are a lot of stores, different restaurants, police station, fire station and city hall as well as a lot of different houses. -------------------- |
