contra zoom

Says it all in the title really. Can anyone tell me a reliable method of doing a proper contra zoom shot? I've had a go but none of my efforts look right. Can't seem to get the zoom in to synch with the dolly out properly.

Try opening a new movies based on the Starter Movie "A Strange Noise" the last few secs of that might give you some clues if you look in the camera view.

"If we only use 1/3 of our brain, what's the other 1/3 for?"

Yeah, the contra zoom there just goes in the opposite direction than that in the clip I've improvised, but the procedure is the same.
