Hey guys, I know there is some other more important things to implement in the upcoming version of Moviestorm but could I please make another request.
Could you please add an option to render out individual right and left eye segments of the 3D function. Exporting anything in 3D cuts the output resolution by half because it squeezes the two frames together. This would make my current production go much smoother. Thanks for your understanding. And oh...I know its a long shot....is there a hack that might help me do this in the meantime? -------------------- |

I've put in a feature request for this (and Dave thinks it is quite an easy one), but I'm not aware of a workaround to tide you over till it is done.

Blue sky thought: would it be possible to hack the .mscope file (disclaimer: I think I've actually looked at an .mscope exactly once in my life, so I could be spewing utter nonsense here) to x-offset the camera a bit and re-render for the second-eye view?

This is what a camera keyframe looks like in the movie.mscope CODE <keyframe> <keyframe class="mscope.things.TargetShot"> <targetOffset>10.221554 -0.2513638 2.0</targetOffset> <distance>0.0</distance> <pan>1.5739378</pan> <tilt>-0.081681415</tilt> <roll>0.0</roll> <bearing>0.0</bearing> <elevation>0.0</elevation> <keyFOV>0.33955655</keyFOV> <keyTransform>-0.0031414418 -0.99666095 -0.08159021 10.221554 0.99999505 -0.003130968 -2.563122E-4 -0.2513638 0.0 -0.081590615 0.99666595 2.0 0.0 0.0 0.0 1.0</keyTransform> <cameraMat>-0.0031414418 -0.99666095 -0.08159021 10.221554 0.99999505 -0.003130968 -2.563122E-4 -0.2513638 0.0 -0.081590615 0.99666595 2.0 0.0 0.0 0.0 1.0</cameraMat> <lineSide>1</lineSide> <distanceToFocalPoint>3.0</distanceToFocalPoint> <focalRange>1024.0</focalRange> </keyframe> <pathInfo> <linear>true</linear> <tension>0.0</tension> <continuity>0.0</continuity> <bias>0.0</bias> </pathInfo> <cutTo>false</cutTo> <startTime>0.0</startTime> <duration>0.0</duration> <subject class="cameraman" reference="../../../cameras/cameraman"/> <isValid>true</isValid> </keyframe> I think you would need to adjust the keyTransform, based on pan, tilt and roll (so you know which way right is). For that you would need to a:) understand what these values mean to start with and b:) do a lot of math for all the camera keyframes in your movie. Edit: that was a Yes that is probably practically a No. -------------------- Ben Sanders

that was a Yes that is probably practically a No. LOL Well, Ill just look forward to its "official" release then. Of course, in addition to the right and left individual export option, another feature may be nice is a convergence slider like in the camera setup tab. So just as you can set depth of field and focal length (and keyframe it), you can set how much of the a 3D effect you want ( and keyframe it). This would help with things getting closure to screen. I can imagine that being a more complicated feature to add, but it certainly would make the 3D function in Moviestorm more complete. Just a thought. -------------------- |
