We have just released Moviestorm 1.6.2, with the following improvements:

Adding customisable images or video on held props is more reliable (it was breaking when you had used the same prop several times).
One can now re-use an existing held prop (so that customisations stay on it, or so that video will continue to play on it).
Clicking on walls above doors or windows in the Director's view no longer results in flashes of a black screen.
Moving the mouse over walls above doors or windows in the Set Workshop no longer results in flashes of a black screen.
Memory leak fixes to prevent retention of buttons in the cutting room, and to prevent retention of prior movies when returning to the front screen.
Lipsync now generates even if the text does not match the audio (for example there is an extra sentence in the text).
The notifier should be more obvious now, and the alerts do not vanish when one clicks the mouse anywhere on the screen.

Error report on 1.6.2 update:
installed new update;
1.TEMPLATE material Editor or Model Part Material Editor : lost ability with modders workshop to see a new materials/texture pop-up window... It may have opened but is invisible or off screen .. i loose the ability to click on Publish and some menus, though some still work.....


2. Full screen goes black after the startup window on both modersWorkshop or after pressing START button.
--no way to turn off full screen mode (but luckly I had an older install of MS so i could turn it back to windowed mode and continue using 1.6.1 until 1.6.3 .... I hope)



changed to full screen mode: Only the first splash screen opens: click on modders/Start will open a new screen but stays black...

How to turn off 'full screen' and in which xml file?

I seem to be having issues with the lipsync. I added a mono 14100 audio file and got the "lipsync alert', so I cut the file into smaller bits and tried again.
For some reason the "Accept this take" button then refused to do anything. All I could do was close the box using the "X".
I tried using a different audio file which was working Ok in another location on the timeline but although it accepted the file there was no lipsync and this time no alert.
It may be memory-related as I have a lot of actors in this one but I have tried removing some and their actions to no avail.

As I think Tree has just reported (I can't see the whole post as it goes off the side of the screen), there are big problems in the Modder's Workshop.
Materials for puppets can't be edited. Click on them, nothing happens. What's worse, once you do that, you can't click on anything else in the modshop.

A workaround is to edit the bodypart files directly, but it's extremely long-winded!

Sorry about my post above.. I even tried to fix it,but ended up with a double post (if the editing icons were Left-justified, I could fix it.... LOL just like the bug in MS it's Offscreen LOL)
... now can't edit or delete my 2 posts above.
The error log just shows where the program locks up when using full screen mode.

There are no errors in the LOG files with the "materials popup screen" problem... it behaves similar to being offscreen or invisible.


I said to myself, great an update (pressing Update); but from experience always have a backup (older version)

Fullscreen is controlled by a line
fullscreen=false
or
fullscreen=true
in the machinimascope.properties

Is your fullscreen lockup new to 1.6.2? Ie, it worked in 1.6.1?

I'm making good progress with the material editor windows not appearing.

I would be interested in having a copy of that audio file, and the text you were trying to use with it, to see what is going wrong with it (if it is reproducible).

Yes, (I have 2 installs of ms on my win8 64bit Intel 4000 laptop... 1.6.2 and 1.61) it's(black screen after pressing start or moddersWorkshop ) a new problem with 1.6.2, no problems with 1.6.1
I'm opening up 1080p but at other resolutions the same problem is happening with 1.6.2

It's going wrong at the very first point where CG is being asked to do anything (I think to check if profile is supported). I'm somewhat baffled here - I don't think I have done any changes to 1.6.2 that would happen this early in the program.
Does it still happen if you have just restarted your computer (and not run any other versions of Moviestorm first)? I'm wondering if it could be an error introduced by copying your existing version; Windows can be a bit picky about copying dll's if they are loaded. In the installation the file that is probably relevant is lib/native/win32/cg.dll or cgGL.dll
