I would be interested to know if anyone else experiences this.
Fire up Moviestorm and press "Start" but then just leave the program sitting there, don't choose to load a movie or start a new one. After several minutes I get a message saying my hardware isn't capable of running MS and I have to shut down. Howver if I start using MS immediately I have no problem. FWIW I do have a good nVidia card. So why does this message appear after a length of time doing nothing? Feels like something is leaking.... -------------------- "I have had the same problem with getting the wheels to rotate properly with animated cars. How odd. We are having a go, but with no reproduction so far.
Please could you repeat this process, then, when it provides the message, please could you: Screenshot the error messaage. Keep the log.txt and the boot.log These are created in the Moviestorm user folder. They are emptied each time you start Moviestorm. They are in: Vista, Win7, Macs: Users/[Username]/Moviestorm WinXP: C:/Documents and Settings/[Username]/Moviestorm Then also produce a dxdiag.txt: WinXP: Start->Run, then type dxdiag Vista, Win7: Start, then type dxdiag in the search Once DirectX Diagnostics has started, click 'Save all Information' and save out the dxdiag.txt If you can zip these all up (log.txt, boot.log, screenshot of error and dxdiag.txt) and attach to a reply post, it would be most helpful. -------------------- Ben Sanders

Hi Ben,
I have attached the files as requested along with some more screen dumps of my set-up. I only just noticed the message is coming from NVidia not MS. You may recall me having issues with my laptop setup before. The problem is that although I have the Nvidia card installed and it is set as the default graphic processor for everything (including MS) it does not show up in DXDIAG.TXT. Now I know that MS is running using the NVidia card and not the integrated graphics for 2 reasons. 1) I right click on the Icon and choose "Run with Graphics Processor" and choose the NVidia card (which shows as the default anyway). 2) If, instead of doing that I choose "Integrated graphics" when I get to the set workshop the screen constantly flashes and is pixellated. I don't know if there is some way of getting DXDIag to pick up the NVidia details? I'm sure it worked once! Running Win 7 64 bit Home Edition. I have included the resolution screen dumps only as they confused me a bit, however I am assuming the the 2nd (non selectable) screen which specifically show the Graphics card is referring to an externally connected screen port which I am not using. Cheers, John

I left mine up for about 15 minutes with no error. I was doing other things on the computer though while I waited so I'm not sure if I accurately duplicated your process.

Some other examples of people getting this error:
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=190107 http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=259313 http://superuser.com/questions/156838/adob...-display-driver Possibly it might be overheating? Or having issues caused by power management stuff? -------------------- Ben Sanders
