I have the MovieStorm 1.7.1 release 31028 from 07/09/15 on a Windows XP system. I am trying to use Filters on the Cutting Room View - and this does not work.

Any ideas? Help?

Thanks!

Some more detailed info about the problem, your system's graphic hardware and Moviestorm graphics settings would be desiderable.

What filter does not work? How are you trying to apply filters to the clip?

If you want to tell jokes then use Muvizu; if you want to make 'Movies', use iClone; but if you want to tell stories, use Moviestorm - PrimaveraNZ

Thanks for trying to help.

All filters do not work.

I drag the filters on the clip in the Cutting View Room.

I have:

Intel G33/G31Express Chipset Family

chip: Intel GMA3100

DAC: Internal

Memory: 256.0 MB

View: [60Hz] [32Bit] 1024X768

Where do I find The MovieStorm Graphics settings?

That's the way to proceed.

I guess not the most sophisticated graphic chip, is it? Not sure about what specific graphic capabilities are required for filters to work, but I'd say your graphic chip is the first thing to suspect of.

Where do I find The MovieStorm Graphics settings?

Main screen -> Settings -> Graphics

Do you have checked the option 'Use shaders'?

If so, try unchecking it and applying the filters again.

If that does not make the trick, it may be of some help taking a look at the log file created by Moviestorm, just in case it detects some error.

To do so:

1) Open Moviestorm and load/create a movie (the simpler the better). Go to the cut room and apply one or more filters to the clips. Exit Moviestorm.

2) Open a new instance of Windows Explorer. In the address bar, enter '%UserProfile%\Moviestorm'  (without the quotes!) and press Enter. You should be now in a folder 'C:\Users\your_user_account\Moviestorm'

There are a few audit files of interest here:

   Log.txt

   hardware-report.html

   hardware-.report-summary.html

3) Copy and paste those files here or, MUCH BETTER:

3.1. (optional) Copy those files to another temporary location and create a zip archive including them

3.2. Attach the archive or the separate files here.

Also, please refer to this thread. It seems Intel integrated graphic chipset are not the best thing to work with.

The PC doesn't meet the minimum specs for the software so I don't think you will have much luck I'm afraid.

Indeed, not the recommended ones. Not sure about the minimum, as it states:

A dedicated 3D-capable graphics card (NVidia GeForce FX 5200 or better / ATi Radeon 9600 or better)

Or Intel HD graphics (on Core i3 or newer) - requires updated graphics drivers

Anyway, the minimum are just that: the absolute minimum required to get the program running, though maybe some of the features wouldn't be available at all.

Is it core i3 though? I would be surprised since it is running Win XP.

Thanks for all helpers!

I downloaded a graphic driver from Intel - https://downloadcent...-?product=80939and this crashes the MovieStorm software when I try to use filters.

So, I believe - I'll need a new graphic card or a new computer.

Probably the right time for this.....

Thanks!
