The plot:
When she was three years old, Stephanie Cooks parents, who were secret agents, went on a mission. Then, an explosion killed them, along with over 200 other agents, crippling the agencys forces. To protect Stephanie, the government took custody of her, sealing her in an underground bunker until she grew old enough to be unrecognizable by anyone looking to cause her harm. At the age of twelve, she learned what had happened to her parents, and vowed revenge on the person who set off the blast, not just for herself, but for the good of the entire agency. She began training as an agent from age thirteen, and slowly underwent a strange transformation. She felt as if emotion could compromise her ability to complete her objective, so she taught herself not to feel emotion of any kind. No happiness, no anger, no sadness. The loss of emotion, combined with twenty years underground, even caused her to lose her color vision. Her world became grey and emotionless. Finally, at age 23, she is released, seeing the sunlight for the first time in 20 years. After only a few days on the surface, she realizes that emotions are vital to functioning in society, but has forgotten how to feel them. As she searches for her parents assassin, she meets a young man named Michael Williams, who forms an immediate bond with Stephanie. Over time, he slowly nurtures her emotions back through walks through the park, canoeing on the lake, and looking up at the stars. Then, one day, as the two run through the city park, Stephanies mind triggers a memory of her parents taking her on a walk through the very same park when she was barely three years old. The emotion is too much for her, and she collapses on the ground, as she begins to cry for the first time in more than ten years. As her emotions return further, her color vision returns as well, as does her hatred for the aforementioned assassin. She uses the hate to her advantage, finally tracking down and killing the assassin after a climactic final battle.
