I'm not sure if this is driver related or not-- I updated the drivers to the most recent version right at the beginning to get rid of the "blue box" problem.
What's happening is that whenever I try to activate shadows in the setup room, Moviestorm instantly quits with no warning or error message. Now that I have shadows enabled under Settings, the same thing happens when I try to watch Nosferatu in the samples section, which says that it uses shadows. Other special effects seem to be working okay. I've got fire and I've got rain (and I've got sunny days that I thought would never end), but one other thing that might be related is that I don't seem to have wind; although in that case I may be missing some vital step. Not sure. I've attached the error log, but I think I've already done everything I can do to solve earlier problems. I updated the drivers, I believe I have my graphics maximized for processing power and I've got my memory allocation set to 800 (but not 1024, as that seems to cause other issues). I'd be grateful for any advice anyone might have. Thank you.

I had all sorts of problems even after reducing to 800 then I reduced the memory to 512 again, now it works fine. The need to increase the memory allocation above the default 512MB has been substantially reduced by 1.5.2, which fixed a lot of memory leaks. As there are potential problems caused by increasing it, it is probably preferable not to.
You are using an Intel Series 4 graphics chip, rather than a separate graphics card. These are possibly not capable to providing shadows, I'm afraid. According to the log, your graphics (with shaders on), only supports a max of 1024 vertices, which is fewer than would be needed for even just one Moviestorm character. -------------------- Ben Sanders

Unfortunately, there's no change when I do that. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I guess that answers that. I'll just have to be happy with what I have for now. By the way, is there any way to change this new nested view in threads? I'd prefer seeing all responses at once. -------------------- |

By the way, is there any way to change this new nested view in threads? I'd prefer seeing all responses at once. You googled something on the forums didn't you? The fix to this is to add "&mode=flat" to the end of your url. Or if the url already has "mode=threaded" in it change "threaded" to "flat". |
