Hello Moviestormers,
Its been a long time since we have released an episode of Richard. Our latest interviewee, Lucy Georges, hasn't got back to us with the questions yet, so while we're waiting, we thought about releasing a special episode of Richard:
This is something we have been discussing for a while now. Similar to BBC's Question Time 3/4/5 people have a "lively" discussion about Moviestorm, debate a few things, etc. If it works out, we would consider making it a full blown series.
The problems with this are though:
-Finding 3-5 people willing to do this
-Staging and recording the debate itself.
-Animating it in Moviestorm

Therefore, we are asking:
-Will anyone be up for a Moviestorm debate? We would hopefully be looking at a panel made up of:
}One MS Staff Member
}One MS "Pioneer" Member
}One MS Modder
}One other MS User, who prehaps has an issue with a certain aspect of MS
}The Panel Chairman, Richard
- And, How to record this? IS there some form of software to record an online voice debate- for free?

The shows aim is to-
}Debate subjects that are often discussed in the MS Forums
}Educate new users about these subjects
}Tell MS what we want/think
}And to entertain people with a lively debate!

Is this something you would watch, or are interested in taking part in? If so, PM me or Forum reply please smile.gif

One other thing- if this goes ahead, for graphics and stuff, does anyone know the MS Logo/Tagline Font(s)? Thanks!

Charlie

This sounds like a great idea, but another problem I see, that you haven`t thought about is time zones. all your panalist would need to be in or near the same time zone, this is why I had to pre-record my answers to the questions on storm hour, when the show was live, I was at work.

I am a Pioneer and a modder so I could do either of those. You can record over SKYPE. You can have group meetings that way. You can also use Second Life, although SKYPE is a bit easier to record.

Yes I forgot to mention that. If we can find a time to suit all it would be great, or we would have to have a panel of all of the same nationalities. I don't want to have everyone prerecording answers, as it wouldn't be a debate then, just people giving their views. good point Andy.

Can you actually record the condensation over SKYPE, and save it as a file? If so, thats exactly what we want. Thanks for offering to take part as well Lucinda, I know you've been here since Beta days, and our other interviews told me you have a lot of experience in Machinima/Moviemaking. If we can get it sorted, we would love to have you on.

I have recorded calls on SKYPE previously. I will check into it further and see how it works now. There is some software you have to download to do it.

Okay here is one but it costs $24.95 but I think only one person has to have it and they can record everyone talking. This is the pro version of Pretty May so they may have a free version too.

Here is the free version. I will download it and see how it works. I have used it before.

Pretty handy for recording voice overs with actors too.

$24/$25, thats about £15.29... not bad at all. But if the free version works OK, I'll get that. Thanks Lucinda

I just downloaded and installed the free version and it seems pretty simple to use and as I said, I don't think everyone has to have it. It will record anyone with whom you are talking.
