Solution to full-screen startup problems.

16 October 2009 - 04:50 PM

We have noticed that some machines are experiencing problems when starting Moviestorm in fullscreen mode after upgrading to 1.1.7.
While we have found a coding solution to this problem which will be available with the patch release, I thought it might be useful to post a quick fix until that becomes available.

On a windows XP PC, navigate to:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Moviestorm
Or on Vista:

On the file "machinimascope.properties" right click and open with a text editor such as Notepad.

Once the file is opened, search for the line that says "fullscreen=true" and change the "true" value to "false"
Save the file.

Now your Moviestorm will start up in "windowed mode" which will prevent the problem occuring.

New NVIDIA Drivers available (non-beta)

05 October 2009 - 04:12 PM

Hi Guys,
As you may be aware, we had a problem with the last crop of NVIDIA drivers (release 190.68) and some aspects of Moviestorm (please take a look at THIS topic).

We were lucky enough to be told about a Beta driver that was available which resolved the graphics problems we were seeing, and many thanks to Barthold for supplying us with that link.

Anyway, today there has been a new driver release by NVIDIA (release 191.07) which we're happy to report works very well with Moviestorm. (We jumped on it as soon as we realised there was one available!).

Please go to their site for more details and to download the driver (link below):

New nVidia Beta Drivers

26 August 2009 - 09:44 AM

A big thank you to Barthold for informing us of the new nVidia beta drivers (ver. 190.57) which he posted a download link for in the help forums.

The direct download link for these new drivers can be found below:

We have tested the drivers with Moviestorm Release and are very happy to report that the issues that we were experiencing with the released drivers (190.38 and 190.62) are all resolved.

If you are experiencing any of the issues reported, please download these beta drivers to fix the skinning and particle issues mentioned in the other thread.
