One of the challenges I face when recording my voice or using other voices is to maintain a constant volume for the voices or at least control it to the level you want. I found plugin called Terry West Steady Voc. It is free and it seems to work well. You just have to downloaded and place it in your plugin folder. Record MS without any other. Sounds than the voices. I like the results. I will use it on my next movie. This plugin is not a compressor but it actually attempts to modulate the level of the voices as they are played.

I haven't found Steady Voc, the Steady Pro Bundle 1.3 appears to be the latest version:

Is this what you have tried?

Yes. Stereo Pro Bundle. He also has compressors but this one acts like an auto
Leveler. bTW, on your sound chain you may compress and
Add an equalizer and/or
Reverb after the leveler but have the leveler as the first step on the chain. I hope it works for you. Let me know what you think. I have it on the Episode I am working on.
