I am a very new member and MovieStorm keeps freezing up. I get the basic set up but as soon as I try to get objects in the set MovieStorm eventually freezes up, and I get the Mac spinning beach ball of death. I can't even force quit it and need to shut it off.

It is dependent upon your graphics card and the ram you have in your computer. Also virus programs and other programs that run in the background and heat up your processor can cause Moviestorm to crash. -------------------- |

What are your Mac's specs? i.e it has to be a Intel chip not an old Power PC one (but you probably wouldn't have got that far anyway Also what version of MS are you using? I remember various Mac Users had a similar issue ages ago, but it was fixed by more recent updates. -------------------- "I have had the same problem with getting the wheels to rotate properly with animated cars. I went back to the earlier version, 1.2, and I don’t have any problems with it. (Well, almost no problems.) |

Something else to check: when Moviestorm starts, go into "Settings" on the first screen; if "Shaders" are enabled, turn them off. When you've finished creating your set, placing characters and setting up camera positions and are ready to render, re-enable shaders, restart Moviestorm and then render.

I remember various Mac Users had a similar issue ages ago, but it was fixed by more recent updates. Using a MacPro with a Dual Core Intel Xeon 2 GHZ processor. The graphics card is a ATI Radeon HD 3870 with VRAM 512 MB. I am trying out the free version 1.3 of MovieStorm. |

I'm wondering if your mac is overheating? That is something that might cause what you are describing.
If you can monitor the tempature of the cpu and/or graphics chip (card?), while starting to run Moviestorm, that would give a good idea of what is happening with tempature. If it does seem to be heat related, then make sure it is well ventilated, and not dusty. -------------------- Ben Sanders

Now on MS 1.5 I am having a freezing problem as well. I have a PC with REALLY high performance. It happens whenever I get 6 or 7 people on the set. Is there a character limit?

Do you have any navmeshes on the set?
They are the Moviestorm equivalent of molasses in January. Though it sounds as though a fix is afoot. C |
