Great list, everyone.

I just realized that there is something missing I use a lot.

Handbrake is a tool for converting videos from files and even DVDs. I think the results are among the best. It also allows you to crop, scale and enhance the source. Once I had a DVD with bad quality and wrong ratio -- Handbrake's result was better than the original DVD .

Handbrake is available for Mac, Windows and Ubuntu.

Long Path Tool is another great tool which helps for the security purpose especially for extracting shorter password  to a large ones and also you can rename files that appear to have a long file name.
