It's going to work I just know it...It's going to work I just know it...It's going to work I just know it...It's going to work I just know it...It's going to work I just know it... Well? Nope. I wasn't surprised this time though. Several male animations work perfectly well without every single bone keyframed at every frame. They even work with only a few bones keyed on some of the frames. Ben, I know you tried and I thank you but I think I know now why you guys haven't done a sideways walk. Its not that it can't be done. I'm doubtful you guys have figured it out either. At least for the female and you wouldn't want to release just the male. But I would be more than happy for you to prove me wrong. Nudge nudge. -------------------- Sango: "If it was really a miracle everyone would have been saved."

I just knew it wouldn't . So do you think Ben will accept the challenge? -------------------- Sango: "If it was really a miracle everyone would have been saved."

I'm afraid I've lost track of where Corthew has got to. I did think that he had made functional animations, other than the problem with the keyframing/keyframe reordering. I can see that could be more problematic with the female as there are more bones.
Corthew = have you established which error it is which is causing problems for you? QUOTE Note: There are two problems you have encountered - looking at the log should help you determine which is the problem you are having. The one where there are insufficent keyframes (either because they have been purged from the animation by moviestorm because they are identical, or because they were not exported in the first place) will have an ArrayIndexOutOfBounds (-1) in the exception. The other one, which is about foot positions will have an IllegalArgumentException, with a message 'Cant normalize walk cycle'. -------------------- Ben Sanders

Corthew = have you established which error it is which is causing problems for you? Just ignoring the challenge. I don't actually see a log being generated by the animations that work in ModShop but don't even show in Directors View. Nothing to pull an error from that I can find. -------------------- Sango: "If it was really a miracle everyone would have been saved."

To clarify a bit, by "don't even show up in directors view" I mean, there is no indication that they are even installed.
They are not in the gaits choices. -------------------- Sango: "If it was really a miracle everyone would have been saved."

In the log.txt (in your moviestorm user folder), at the point where you bring up the walks customiser, there will likely be an error thrown. The nature of that error shows which problem you are having.
If it is just the keyframes issue, then I have a fix for that in our internal code base. PS: My intention is to prove you wrong by providing sufficient instructions for you to do it yourself. It may take some time. -------------------- Ben Sanders

Also, the first addon basically worked, other than the problem with the keyframes:

Things got crazy with the "alleged" Win IE9 update and I kinda selectively forgot this.
Ben, I'm probably going to wait until the patch that changes the keying issue is out and go back through then and find the animations that are keepers then see if I need to do more. Glad to know though that I was actually accomplishing something. Thanks for the patience on this. Hope you didn't lose as many hairs as I did. -------------------- Sango: "If it was really a miracle everyone would have been saved."
