This is so cool. You draw on paper with this digital pen and it saves all your data an then you can upload the drawing to the computer. This will be such a boon for model makers. But I can't find it anywhere. It is sold out on Amazon and the company does not sell them directly.

Here is the link to the item:

http://www.wacom.com/en/Products/Inkling.a...CFQMDQAodwTdVJw

If anyone knows where I can get this, please let me know. By being able to draw freehand on paper I can make a lot of really great models.

A quick google search with the terms

wacom inkling where to buy

gave this link:

Tsk tsk.smile.gif

You should probably call your local Best Buy or store of choice to be certain they have them in stock before going though.smile.gif

Tried about half of the stores on that list and no one has it. The company said they provided their first production to Amazon and Amazon sold out of them. So I may have to wait until after Christmas to get it. That is fine though as they might be on sale after Christmas.

And here I thought I'd done my good deed for the year.smile.gif

The only place I was able to find the actual pens was Ebay and...Hehe...You don't wanna go there. (See image).

Even if you are willing to pay the big bucks, if it doesn't work you're screwed. (No returns accepted).

I understand it from their position since people will likely return it as soon as its available elsewhere otherwise...Especially at the price people are actually willing to pay for the $199.00 product.

Well if they are over the price Wacom has which is $199.00, then those people probably bought up the ones that were released on Amazon and are reselling them on Ebay. So we will wait until after Christmas.

And I just checked on Ebay, one person has listed it for $655.00 which is a real rip off. Surely Wacom will be producing more of these. Most of them on Ebay are over $400 which is a ripoff too. Thanks anyway.

I bought a Wacom Bamboo product for my son a few years ago. He is satisfied with it but from what I've read most of the stylus/tablet products meet with mixed reviews.

From what I'm reading on this one it is much easier to use and the translation from what you draw is more precise.

A thing to note about the sellers on Ebay is that most aren't setting the prices so high. The bids are driving them up.

The only reason I might ever be willing to pay more for a product than its selling price is as a gift for someone where the timing would be important to me.

I'm going to guess that's what's going on on Ebay.

I'm reminded of the Cabbage Patch doll crazy back in the 70s or 80s.

Well I can't believe people are bidding as high as $650.00 for a $199.00 item. What fools they are I can wait until they produce more.

I know what you mean Urbanlamb but these people bought these for $199.00 when they first came out a couple of weeks ago and were only available on Amazon.com. I just found out about this by reading Time Magazine the other day.

I can't believe that the economy is so bad that people are willing to pay for something like this, even though it is a great new product and spend over 3 times what it is worth. Because of course Wacom is going to make more of them and they will be available soon. One guy on Ebay even had a buy it now price for this of $1000.00. Geez.

I don't understand it either Urbanlamb, heck for the price some people paid for that digital pen on Ebay, they could have bought a new computer. I know I can wait or just not get it at all if they don't make any more of them.

Hey Lucinda,

I don't know how it compares but I thought you may want to check this out:

http://www.logipen.com/lp/logipen_lp.php?g...CFVCR7QodAwpEUA

The Inkling looks aesthetically sharper though but this one is half the cost.smile.gif

I also found this one:

http://www.staedtler.com/digital_pen

Although it may be hard find a place to buy it.

Thank you Corthew, it is the same kind of pen, you draw on paper and it has a receiver that transmits it to the computer. I saw those but didn't know if they were the same or not or just for use with the tablets.

I agree with you. I want peace too in the world. I have never understood how such intelligent creatures we humans are that there is so much fighting in the world and so little cooperation.
