Moviestorm 1.7.1 brings some fixes and support for two new content packs.

Check out the new content packs Courtyards, and Metropolis

Moviestorm 1.7.1
New features

  • The prop customizer allows you to detach a prop from its parent or children props, so it can be moved or deleted separately
  • Content pack meshpacks are only assigned memory when the content pack is first used; this should substantially reduce the likelihood of running out of address space for people using a lot of content packs.
  • Movie scenarios and stock sets can now have a list of content packs that are needed to load them.
  • Support for Courtyards and Metropolis content packs.

Resolved issues

  • Shadows should work correctly on props that have a texture transformation (and on the Dance floor)
  • Rescaling the Nav Mesh should work better (previously it didn't scale the walkable bit for purposes of connecting to the floor)
  • Playing the drum kit should work correctly after reloading the movie (the drumkit and drummer were vanishing in the Cutting Room and Render)
  • Camera UI now works after replacing the set with a different set from stock.
  • Modder's workshop default gesture names now begin with Gestures/ so that they correctly appear in the gesturizer
  • Modder's workshop addon filter should work with our published addons that have components in the ModdersWorkshop addon

Moviestorm Filmmaker will update in the launcher. Moviestorm Education Unlimited or Moviestorm Education Junior will need the patch downloading and installing.

Ooh you Blimmin Beauty you, Ben!

Not only software updates, but new add-on packs? But not only new add-on packs, but a Metroplis pack, which is precisely what I need for my Passion Competition entry? No more banging my head against beautiful-but-impossible-to-squeeze-into-moviestorm cityscapes from 3D Warehouse!

Had a problem with the update. The Install progress bar on two different PCs never completed. I eventually pressed "Start" anyway and MS crashed. On restarting it seems to work but I haven't had time to check the functionality.

Yep, me too. The lower bar got 90% of the way across and then stopped. MS vanished on clicking 'start'. The info bar had a message about updating the modders' workshop if that helps. Hopefully it had actually completed but got stuck at the 'elegant finish' point.

Same behaviour here. Apparently no problem after restarting, though can't be 100% sure. New packs bought, installed and looking awesome.

Great news, Ben!  Those new packs look stellar.  You'll be taking my money as soon as I get off of work.

Not quite sure what is causing this, however, it seems to have finished the patching, but failed to restart the launcher, so I think it should be fine.

As far as I could tell, it happened with the 1.7.0 launcher, but not with the newer one. Unfortunatly you only get the fix by going through the patch process with the restart request not working at the end of it. Sorry.

Apparently the last thing it makes before getting stuck is to patch some stuff related to the preview of the contents in the new packages:

I had this same issue, but as mentioned it doesn't seem to have caused any problems.  Love the new content packs, though!

Resuming old work goes well ,no probs sofar, and the new sets are very creativity inspiring.

A much delayed infusion of new life. Thank you again.
