Not too much to show thus far.

A little inspiration from one of the best.

Lessons learned so far:

- FragMotion's 'Grab' variant of the animation link is your best friend when you come to create held props: it keeps the relative position and orientation between two bones of unrelated skeletons. Used in combination with Inverse Kinematics will make your life a lot easier!

NB: once you've finished working on an animation involving the use of any animation link, be sure to disable it; otherwise, some funny things may happen when, for example, you're copying or moving keyframes.

The mod has gone public now and  can be retrieved from https://drive.google...aTNsSFBuN0sxZHM  (file name: jm_Harmonica_<version>.zip)

A short demo clip can be watched at http://www.moviestor...w&vid_id=111951

From the README file:

Held harmonica with a few basic playing gestures. Use in combination with generic poses and gestures for a more convincing result.
Also: be sure to disable improvisations for the puppet, as they can interfere with the prop animations in the most unpredictably ways.

DISCLAIMER: I don't know a single word about the playing technique, so don't expect anything near the real thing.

Excellent!  Combined with different gestures and angles this looks real.  Thanks.

Actually, I'm not satisfied with the current result. I should have better made some previous research about the basic techniques of harmonica playing.

Eventually, I'll come back to this and get it fixed.

A new improved version of the held prop addon, with apparently more realistic animations, has been uploaded.

Wow!  Combined with 'Head' gestures this is extremely realistic.  Complete with wah wah hand effects.  Excellent!

Thank you. I'm glad you like it and hope you'll enjoy it.

I'm planning to add the animations for female characters also sometime in the near future, but right now have a good deal of other entries in my to-do list.
