This is just a minor mod, primarily created for internal experimentation and research, but it's been made publicly available for whoever might be interested.

jm_LaserBlast, by jamoram62 Last Update: 2017/06/14 A few props for implementing laser/energy beam blasts: - Laser bolt: 8 variants. Mobile and scalable. Usage: place on set and hide; when activating: unhide, move and hide again when hitting the target. Note: the prop is provided with a conical handle to make easier its selection and manipulation; that handle is invisible to the camera. Also the prop can be resized, for simulating energy blasts of a range of different calibres. - Laser flash: to simulate the impact on target. 3 variants. Usage: place on set and execute initialization animation When needed, perform the flash and flash off animations. It's a mobile prop too, so it can be also used for: - pretending an energy bolt darting towards its target. - simulating the impacts of a series of successive blasts -------------------- NOTES: Take into account this is mostly an experimental mod. So far, for simulating the discharge of a energy beam weapon in Moviestorm I'd been using two procedures: - by using a fireball prop moving at high speed - by using the laser prop Though both procedures described used to work most of the time, I was looking for something more akin to the laser blasts we use to see in space opera productions and their "slow light" beam weapons, with discrete elongated bolts. One final word about the laser flash prop: for some reason, pyroprops when placed on the set have their pyro effect active, so it's required to execute an "initialization" animation to turn that pyro effect off, unless intended otherwise. Interestingly enough, this doesn't apply to held pyroprops.
A short video clip demo'ing this props can be watched at http://www.moviestor...w&vid_id=112017
