I found a site that had some free, royalty free BVH motion capture animations and used one but after spending a day getting it working with the puppet, I didn't care for the result. Then I went back and looked at the original animation and could see it was not smooth. So I just did a dancing one of my own and it was better. Does anyone know of any source for good free open source BVH animations? However I learned a lot by fooling around with it.

I think those are for Poser if I recall..how does one use them in Moviestorm??? You have to create your character in Milkshape or make it in Sketchup and import it into Milkshape. Since I have Sketchup Pro I can export as an obj file or a 3ds file and that imports into Milkshape. First you import your BVH file which has the skeleton and then you import your character file which just has mesh and textures. But the problem is putting them together so they work together. and the Skeletons were larger than my imported characters so i had to scale them. Also the strange thing with Milkshape is that the vertical axis is not the same as it is in Moviestorm so your prop with the z axis as vertical will lie on the floor in Milkshape but it will still export fine with the Z axis vertical into Moviestorm. Then you export everything as Cal3d. There is a tutoral Chris Ollis wrote on this that works very well. http://www.moviestorm.co.uk/forums/index.p...;showtopic=8945 It is not really that difficult to learn. I am having problems with the animations I create in Milkshape not working correctly in Moviestorm though. Simple ones like moving or rotating an entire object are easy but when you work with characters, there are problems because there are so many joints. -------------------- |
