Unless there is a specific animation for what you intend to get done, most of the time need to make use of camera work, forced perspective, ellision and some basic tricks that are the bread and butter of Moviestorm's animation, ie, using the "point at" preset gesture in combination with invisible props, etc.
Keep in mind, your best asset is your imagination and your creativity, and movie making, both animated and in the real life, is much about tricking the eyes and the mind of the beholder.
