I created a small animation in Misfit, I exported as Cal and got the Caf and various other files in the output.
I removed all files except the Caf file, went into MW, the animation is there ok, however it does not play all the way through, it gets about 3/4 then stops. I Published and double checked in moviestorm and it still does it, plays 3/4 of the animation then stops before the head springs back to idle. I couldn`t find any options in misfit to tell it what frame to end it at, so any misfit users know what could be wrong? Am I missing something? -------------------- |

The length of the animation is Misfit is shown in the lower left (Frames box with up/down arrows for adjusting or you can just type in the box). To the right of that is a slider that lets you manually adjust to the frame you want to view/work on.
You might try playing the animation in Misfit to see if it does the same there. -- Reacher |

Yeah, Misfit plays the animation just fine from beginning to end. The animation is 60 frames, it`s the export that`s getting me as if misfit is not exporting the whole animation to the end

Couple of things you might check :
1)Have you set the rotation keyframe for the final frame? (I find it useful to select the entire skeleton when I set a keyframe - it seems to make the tweening results less unpredictable - but don't ask me why!) 2)Is the loop checkbox active? -------------------- "Les miroirs feraient bien de réfléchir un peu plus avant de renvoyer les images" : Jean Cocteau

If all else fails, you might try starting again from scratch and see if the problem happens again. It is possible there is something wrong in your working file.
If you want to upload the .caf file, I can take a quick look at it in a hex editor to see if it is only exporting part of the animation, or if for some reason Moviestorm just doesn't like it. -- Reacher |

I did set a keyframe for the final frame and loop was left on, is loop maybe the problem?
Admittedly I kind of prefer milkshape, even though it is generally more fiddly to animate with, exporting is a breeze and has many more options for control over the start and end points (which I can find no options for in Misfit). It is odd as the animation works perfectly fine within misfit and the puppets head returns to the idle position as it should, it just does not happen in moviestorm. -------------------- |

You could try exporting from Misfit as a MilkShape file and seeing if MilkShape sees the animation correctly. And if so if it can export it correctly to MovieStorm.
Unfortunately it seems development has stopped on Misfit, so if you do find it is a Misfit bug it would only be for us to document how to work around. -- Reacher |

Well I created the animation that failed in Misfit using Milkshape this time and it worked perfectly.
I will try as you suggested and see if that works and post up my results. -------------------- |

I'm also having snags with Misfit which hopefully one of you wise folks can advise on. I can create my animations no problem in Misfit. and when i export i getthe caf file...but when i get into modders workshop i get everything you would expect (timeline , controls etc), but dont actually get the puppet showing. Any thoughts or advice that im doing wrong ?

Hi Daveek
I had the same problem, and if you publish you'll probably see that it all works anyway. You're actually missing the modder's workshop addon which contains the assets you need to see the puppets. There's a link in the sticky in the workshop forum. HTH -------------------- "Les miroirs feraient bien de réfléchir un peu plus avant de renvoyer les images" : Jean Cocteau

This does mean another additional step for misfit users but at least creates more options for ensuring animations export to moviestorm correctly. @ luxaeternam, funny I swear I installed that addon quite a while ago but never got a stock puppet show when importing animations, guess I was wrong so I have installed it now but still do not get the default avatar come up for the animations. Instead I have to go to body parts and select a body, bad thing about this is that it only lets me show the head or the body, not both together -------------------- |

A question for those using Misfit, do the animations work better? I have found a few glitches in Milkshape for instance, when I have a character rotate in Milkshape -- like make a 360 degree rotation, it just snaps from front around to the front view of the character when in Moviestorm but it works in Milkshape fine. Has anyone tried this kind of animation in Misfit and does it work property in Moviestorm. I use it mostly when I have my characters dancing, doing hand springs and things like that.

You may need additional keyframes, try using more keyframes to be sure you get a fully smooth rotate.
