Helpful for giving reports...

My wife is a teacher with some kids that have a LOT of trouble getting up in front of folks to read/give a report. She asked me to give one of her kids a hand this past week... I had him record him reading the report a few times for me, and I put it to Moviestorm.

Anyway, I finished it a day or two ago, and I think (with music samples, vids from youtube, a little "correcting" of his speech with Audacity) he's going to have as good a presentation as anyone else in the class. My wife told me he was "tickled pink" with the results.

The simple props make for good background slide-show presentations for stressing main points.

Moviestorm made it easy for me to give the young man a hand with his report.

That is awesome Fulkster! Thats so nice that you gave the little guy a hand. Its a really great feeling that the software is not just making schools more fun and engaging but genuinely helping people.

For us this is very promising. This is one of the many ways that Moviestorm can improve the classroom. I feel that there is a great opportunity to make a few stock/ starter movies that even young children could load and simply add their own voice to. something simple.

If its not too much of a bother Fulkster could you possibly elaborate on a little on what you made and what the report was about? Maybe send me a copy? I can use your case to help me create ready made movie that are available to everyone for this sort of scenario.

Basically, this was done to help a young man with an autism problem. Getting up in front of a group of his peers to deliver a report was going to be a task for both presenter and audience. I had him set up a recorder and read his report several times till we had enough material for a decent take all the way through. He gave me directions on where he wanted some samples of his topic (Origin of Rock N' Roll)... Youtube is FULL of samples of the early Rock N' Roll artists (I had forgotten how fun Chuck Berry was to watch).

Some simple squares from the MusicVideo02 addon made for great over the shoulder "tv monitors" to show pictures and topic titles to stress the topics on which he was speaking, as he was speaking (pictures changed at the appropriate time on the timeline).

(He gives the report this Monday... all he needs to do in front of class now is say, "here is my report".)

Thats for getting back to me. This is just the type of example we need to make a template. A very simple presentation is a must have for these movies as they are just so versatile.
I also think this could be a great case study for the website or a paragraph to introduce the template I'm making. Ill talk to the man upstairs and see if its worth putting up. I don't mean upload the movie, we would write a short paragraph on the story and how you helped him using moviestorm along with a quote or two. Is that something that would be ok with you?

Cant wait to see the movie, who doesn't love Chuck Berry?
