A character can sit in it while it moves!
Does this mean we're close to being able to do the same with cars? That we'll have motorcycles, scooters, skateboards, rollerskates, and bicycles soon? Okay, "soon" gives you lots of leeway. Still, cool development! |

Good stuff!
BTW - if anyone is looking for a script to use with a wheelchair there's a bunch here. http://www.simplyscripts.net/cgi-bin/Blah/...WC/m-1287202296 Most of the scripts should have a character in a wheelchair because that was part of the challenge and they all take place in an abandoned house because it was a Halloween challenge. Remember to ask the author if you want to use their script. Cheers. -------------------- |

Amos Hi Amos The wheelchair downloaded Ok and I was able to get a puppet to sit in it and wheel it around the set. However I cannot get the pupet to get out of the chair (must be too comfortable) and stand up. Any clues as to whether I am doing something wrong? many thanks Graham |

Hi Graham,
I don't actually have a copy of the wheelchair asset with me, but I'm pretty sure that you either click on the character or the wheelchair to access the "Get Up" command. Amos -------------------- Amos Willbond

The wheelchair flies fairly well. I did a test demo:
flying wheelchair test The technique is fairly simple: I first made a horizontal path with shift-left click-drag. Then I went to the end of the path and did command-shift-left click (for Windows people, that might be control instead of command) and lifted the wheelchair straight up. Moviestorm created a smooth flight path. |

Amos Hi Amos I can get the puppet into the seat and move the chair in the noirmal way and then get the puppet to stand and move out of the chair. The problem seems to arise if whilst the puppet is in the chair I use any of the commands such as push the wheels. If I do then I can not get the stand-up command to show on the time line and the program appears to freeze. Graham |

Using it is a bit more complex than other usable props. If your arms/hands are doing anything like on the wheels or on the armrest, the option to take your feet off the foot rests will not be available. I'm thinking "Stand up" should not be available until your feet are off the footrests but it is. But even though it IS available, it won't do anything if you haven't removed your feet from the footrests, and you don't get the option to do that until you remove your arms from the armrest, and you don't get that option until you remove your arms from the wheels to the armrest. Like I said, a bit more complex than other props. -------------------- Sango: "If it was really a miracle everyone would have been saved."

You may need to get the character back to the normal sitting position (by clicking on the wheelchair and selecting animations) before they can sucessfully stand up.
