No there isn't. The link on that page was to a very old version and it has been dead for a long time. Well that is a disappointment. I wonder why they got rid of that option. Well at one time it did work. This is from 2009 from the Moviestorm Wiki http://wiki.moviestorm.co.uk/index.php/wik..._to_Moviestorm/ I wonder if a staff member would be able to make it work with Blender 2.6 which I believe is the current version. Was just watching a few movies made with Blender. They look beautiful but I wonder how much work it is to use Blender to make movies. There have been very few movies made with Blender so it must be a lot of work. It seems to me a combination of Blender props with animation and Moviestorm would be great and a real boon to Moviestorm and Blender. -------------------- |

Ben understandably laid that to rest here: http://www.moviestorm.co.uk/forums/index.p...showtopic=12482 If you don't feel like reading the entire forum to find it, he said "no". -------------------- Sango: "If it was really a miracle everyone would have been saved."

I wonder if we all donated money to them to do this, they would do it? I think it could be done. I would donate $50 to Moviestorm. -------------------- |

I read it. I wonder if we all donated money to them to do this, they would do it? I think it could be done. I would donate $50 to Moviestorm. To sufficiently learn the Blender and Cal code, write a plugin, test it and then made available would probably be about a months commitment, so I'm guessing a ball park figure of around £20,000 for the office equipment and two or three members of staff time. $50 is £31, so you just need another 645 users as generous as Lucinda to get this made! -------------------- Chris Ollis

considers creating a webpage and going viral with it..
honestly its more then just a little important.. p.s. they are on blender 2.62 now and its different then 2.6 enough so that the pluggin needs to be for the most current stable blender release anyhow if moviestorm steps forward with a link to a donation box maybe some of us can start circulating said link via pretty webpages with lots of begging. |

Great, regarding donations, lets go for it. In fact, I will make a movie to publicize the donations as soon as we get a link for Moviestorm where to send the donations.

Its possible we should wait to hear word from Moviestorm officially on this before anyone goes crazy since I suspect Chris wasn't anticipating a positive response to his assessment of cost. -------------------- Sango: "If it was really a miracle everyone would have been saved."

I would imagine that the community would explode if they could get their stupid animations and models into moviestorm mod shop without them breaking even if it will still be a bit more labourious then *those other guys* . I would give my eye teeth for such a plugin.. (okay maybe not really give my teeth,, but .. okay i need sugar i am getting silly because i am hungry.. ) |

As soon as Moviestorm staff set up the link so we can make donations, I plan on making this a big campaign, even putting it on Kickstarter. -------------------- |

I just copied this off the Blender site... Looks like Blender supports the export to Cal3d now.
Blend2Cal3D This python script exports a blender model into the Cal3D format, including armature and animations. It is now distributed with the latest blender release. here is the URL http://www.blender.org/download/python-scr.../import-export/ |

Have you made any animated props for use with Moviestorm yet? -------------------- |

Interesting... I'll have a look.
I see the statement on the Blender site, but I don't see any CAL3D export function available in the user prefs import/export section. If I find anything I'll post it. |

I sent an email to the Blender site admins asking them to remove that old link and also the statement that the exporter is included with all new versions of Blender as this is not the case. I never heard anything back from them and the link has stayed sadly. So, every so often someone posts here to say they have "released an exporter" -------------------- "I have had the same problem with getting the wheels to rotate properly with animated cars. They have to be all the same size and round and that helps a bit." America's Top Modder.
