I have attached an error and hope someone can identify the cause, and lead to a solution. This is happening on every movie I have tried to open (all have previously worked).

at a guess the set you are trying to load needs a window prop that you havent got, but I am sure then Ben will let you know more details as soon as he sees this

This error is caused by not being able to load something in your movie.
It refers to line 3639 of the movie.mscope file for that movie. If you could zip up the movie.mscope file for that movie, then I could have a closer look at what might be causing the problem. Your movie can be found in: Vista, Win7, Macs: Users/[Username]/Moviestorm/Movies WinXP: C:/Documents and Settings/[Username]/Moviestorm/Movies You should be able to attach that zip to a reply, and I can look at it to work out what is going wrong. -------------------- Ben Sanders

The problem is apparently with Window 01, which is part of the TownBuildings content pack. I dont see any difference to the xml for that window (broken) and a similar one (for the same window) in a movie that loads.
Check that the TownBuildings content pack is enabled. If it was, it might be worth reinstalling it - run the launcher, get more content, find TownBuildings on the list and click 'Uninstall'. Once it uninstalls, close the launcher, then run the launcher again. It should install the pack automatically again for you, and you may need to click 'Update' to patch it again. -------------------- Ben Sanders

How confusing. Please can I have a log.txt from after you have had one of those errors.
This is created in the Moviestorm user folder. It is emptied each time you start Moviestorm, so please reproduce the problem first. It's in: Vista, Win7, Macs: Users/[Username]/Moviestorm WinXP: C:/Documents and Settings/[Username]/Moviestorm And possibly a screenshot of the settings panel that shows the addon list. Have you been modding with this copy of Moviestorm? -------------------- Ben Sanders

It appears that Law and Order, and Music Video 01, and possibly other addons are corrupted as well.
Or that you possibly just have too many addons installed at once (206!), which is resulting in some of the ones you have failing to load correctly. My inclination at this stage would be to recommend a clean Moviestorm install (dont delete the old install), and once you have the new install, copy over those modder addons from your previous install that are actually being used by your current projects. -------------------- Ben Sanders

When the error started I had a lot less AddOns installed, and opted to load them all in to see if it helped, hence it happened prior to all those AddOns being installed. I will try and reinstall all AddOns and update on progress.
UPDATE: When trying to open the same movie file, I was met with the Unknown Origin asset error... Template -head afro young (fatal) Prop instance pencil/pencil (fatal) I am unsure which AddOns these are associated with. |

Template -head afro young can be found in SpareHeads.
Prop instance pencil/pencil is possibly not a ShortFuze addon - it will have come from a modder, I think. -------------------- Ben Sanders

Not quite sure why that would be.
You could download it directly from http://cloud.moviestorm.co.uk/download-1.5/SpareHeads.addon -------------------- Ben Sanders

The download worked, thank you. Unfortunately, as I could not identify the original source of some third party AddOns, I had no option but to load every AddOn that has been downloaded and used.
When will a version of MS be released that does not load every single AddOn into memory, perhaps only loading those required for a particular scene? Will a 64-bit version be available soon? I once again thank you for your valued and appreciated help. |

I believe that once you have installed all the addons you need, and some extras, you could try disabling them (start with the 'safe addons only' tick). Then once you load your movie, it should know which addons are needed for your other props, so you would be able to re-enable them specifically.
