I am doing a safety training video and need an interactive SCBA respirator with bottle. Also a portable personal gas detector that worker wears on shirt. Please help.

Been having plenty of problems to find a model suitable for Moviestorm. I have found a model of SCBA mask plus airpak quite detailed but it's too heavy in the polycount department; tried to simplify to no avail thus far.

BTW, are you still interested in this mod? Found another model not so cute but may fill the bill.

EDIT: guess not. The OP hasn't logged in over the last 5-6 weeks.

What about this?

Too bad it's not an interactive/held prop, but a "wearable" accessory. What you're asking for is way more complex, would need to be more detailed and require some custom animations... A hell of a job requiring the expertise of a accomplished modder.

EDIT: now available for download. Please refer to http://www.moviestor...showtopic=15950

Hello All...

There is a SCUBA Diver on the addon page

 https://www.dropbox....8-3MHZdnva?dl=0

It has Mask, Regulator, Tank, Fins. There's also Mermaid and Aquarium addons just to keep the theme going.

Hi Brian.

Thank you. Missed that. To be honest, when the OP asked for a SCBA, what it came to my mind was one of those used by firemen and rescue teams, but yes, SCUBAs are absolutely legitimate SCBAs of a kind.

Hi JAM...

I'm sure your right about what OP wanted. I was thinking it could be modified, maybe useful. We gave them choices to start with.

Anyway, for the purposes of producing a training video about those systems, the first things to determine are what is going to be simulated and the animations required. Guess iClone would be a better choice in this specific case, IMHO.

Now available as an integrated asset (mask + air pack + breathing tube).

Too bad, it looks like Moviestorm does not support assigning a vertex to more than one bone (the bone with greater weight will deform the mesh), so for extreme movements of the head the breathing tube can become deformed in an unusual way.  Nevertheless I have the conviction there's something I'm missing, for some vertices in the limbs of the puppets are bound to more than one bone and are affected by them all, eg, the arm and twist arm bones, the same for the forearm, ...

From previous discussions, I seem to remember that it might support up weighting to 4 bones but no more.

Well, I've made some research and it seems it's the Cal3D exporter for Milkshape the one to blame.

These are the vertices of the breathing tube and the weights for the bone Male01 Neck in the original model (Fragmotion):

And the same for the model imported into Milkshape 3d:

So far so good and the same goes if I check the weight for the other bone involved (Male 01 Head). But when I export the mesh to Cal3D, regardless of the value I specify for the number of bones influencing a vertex, the result is always the same: every vertex is rigged to just one bone in the end:

Attached File  03-Cal3D.jpg   92.05KB   0 downloads

So something goes really bad in the process of exporting the mesh to Cal3D, be it the way Milkshape pass the information to the Cal3D exporter or the exporter code itself.

PS: reimporting the model thru Misfit, confirms the fact that the rigging information has gone corrupted for the vertices originally bound to more than one bone.

PS(2): you can find an archive with the material related to this issue (models for Milkshape and Cal3D, screenshouts, etc) at the folder at https://drive.google...Y0kxeHp4bW5JTEU. Look for a file named 'SCBA v2 and MultiBone Influence Rigging Issue.zip'.
