I have several problems with beta version.
1. My moviestorm likes to quit suddenly. It quits in 1 tutorial when i push "character shop" Also - it sometimes quits in main project - when i scroll middle mouse button or when i push f1 2. When i try to click at the character i see only few functions such as: place camera here and move here...and nothing else BUT 3. if my hero is not in the middle of the set (not in the SQUARE) and for some reason it is near the border of the screen - moviestorm SEE HIM! BUT at this moment EVERY hero places UNDER ground and could only "live a set"((((. 4.When I push "move here" my heroes moves but not where I want them to go. My configuration xp sp2 core duo2.66 4gb ram ati radeon Its a pity that moviestorm is so unstable because the idea is great! waiting for pathes!! |

Hi Direction,
I also have had numerous technical problems with MS since I first installed it. I've found that most of them are my own damn fault but still pretty frustrating. I'm having a hard time understanding some of what you say but I'll try to help as much as I can. I'm no expert so maybe some of this will help until one comes along. 1. As far as the "Character Shop", I see that you have posted that in the "CS crash to Desktop" thread. I initially had many strange crashes when running MS. I found less of them when I did NOT "Run Moviestorm in Window". Main menu>Settings>Graphics. 2. This is what happens when you have placed a character and then clicked an open space on the floor. Are you clicking on a character or the floor? 3. Every character and prop should be placed IN THE SQUARE. I don't actually know what happens outside of the square and I don't know why you would try it. 4. Once again, I'm no expert but this sounds like what others describe as a "Hardware Skinning" problem. If so, you probably have "Hardware Skinning" active in your Graphics Settings and drivers on your ATI Radeon that don't support that feature. Either turn off the feature in the MS Graphics Settings or update your cards drivers. Warning- Many problems (even outside of MS) have been reported with ATI's newest 7.12 driver. The 7.11 driver is the one you'd want to install. Someone will probably be along with some corrections to this or better advice so hang in there. Its a pity that moviestorm is so unstable because the idea is great! waiting for pathes!!
As I said, most of my problems have been my own fault or needing a minor adjustment to fix. I don't think that the problems you describe are typical amongst the majority of users and remember, MS is still in the "Early Release" phase. Good luck. -------------------- |

Thanks for your answer! I am experienced user with such a kind of programs so it is not my fault. And it is a pity because i really think that Moviestorm idea and realization is great!! 1.Character shop crashes with old ati cards. So the thread about this problem was right! Thank you! Just pushed "shaders" off and everything is ok! 2.Moviestorm cant "see" my characters. At all. I click on them, trying to zoom and then - click once again ...nothing happens. For example in second tutorial I cant push my character...it is there but it is invisible to Moviestorm. 3.I placed all my characters INSIDE the square but for some reason after one second...they appears OTSIDE. Like...teleportation)) And they always placed closer than I placed them. 4. I cant move them. If I try they went directly to me and LEAVES A SET. Not "left" or "right" but only the way that I described earlier. I use the Program with FULL SCREEN on. Not "in window". So. I think that Moviestorm have problems with my ATI drivers. Catalist (latest versions) also have some problems with radeonx300 (x550). So I install: a) ati tray tools installed (not catalist). I need it for vert sync function in some games c) graphics driver - Ati technologies, 8.451.0.0. (date - 20.12.2007) also i have widescreen monitor Maybe - this info helps. I can reinstall my videodrivers but with step-support from moviestorm creators. Maybe we solve some problems with unstability in common. I would like to help with program development if i can. |

Hello Direction, welcome to Moviestorm, and sorry about the problems.
One of our big problems at the moment is compatability with the most recent ATI drivers; it is causing the problems you are having with not being able to click on the characters, and not having them appear where you try to place them. If you can get the slightly older graphics drivers (the ones that are in the catalyst 7.11 version, then they should work correctly. http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/prev...-cat711-xp.html - this has a link to just the drivers, as well as one to use the catalyst control center. -------------------- Ben Sanders

AngriBuddhist [size=18]YES!!!!!!!!! It really solved ALL problems with just one install!!! Step-by-step: 1. I install only display driver. I dont need catalist control center as I described earlier 2. No I see in my driver options: c) graphics driver - Ati technologies, 8.432.0.0. (date - 1.11.2007) And in the Moviestorm everything pushes well:)! Also there is no problem with walking directions. Thank you for your quick answers!! Maybe this info helps to other ATI owners. |

The 7.11 driver is the one you need.
