I have been asked to guest on an internet radio show (TMOAA.com) this sunday and wanna have a sample ready by then to show everyone.
The one thing that will help what I am doing would be to find the texture (.png, or .dds) that make up the faces of the puppets. I can use this to 'edit in' the tears that would complete Marlapuppets performance. Later things like this will be easier, I am sure, but for now a simple edit will likely do the trick. Anyone know where I can find this file? -------------------- |

From your install directory (probably C:/Program Files/Moviestorm)
AddOn\Core\Data\Puppets\Female01\Heads\Euro\Textures Or something similar exchanging Male01 for Female01, or African for Euro. There are quite a few textures for the euro heads (about 18 varients for the female), so remember to click the head and cycle through to the one you changed, if you decide to mod one other than the first. The diff textures are the diffuse maps (ie the main colour), the spec are for the specular (which bits are shiny), and the norm are for the normals (height changes). -------------------- Ben Sanders

Found it, edited it, got my "smeared mascara from crying" edited in. Well, as good as I can draw such things, anyway.
I notice that the .dds in question does NOT actually represent how the puppet looks. Anything I draw on stays, of course, so I know I'm on the right one, but the .dds is far more photo realistic than the puppet actually is. IE there are eyebrows on the .dds, but there is a different file for the eyebrows on the puppet. Also, the eyes don't show up on the puppet, so the 'watery eye' look Tera worked on ended up wasted. I can't help but be curious. Is the photorealistic .dds a holdover from something previously intended? Or something getting built up to? The puppets look pretty good, but if they can actually look like the skin I saw, they would look fantastic. -------------------- |

Some aspects of the engine are not yet perfect; As I understand it, some work is scheduled to improve how well the face textures are displayed.
We also get artifacts caused by the shadow engine, which will need some attention at some point. The eyes use separate textures; if you look in the bodypart file (which are basically text xml files), you can see where each of the textures used is stored relative to the model. Eg in \AddOn\Core\Data\Puppets\Female01\Head (African 01).bodypart there is the following extracts: This would indicate that the eye texture is stored in the Textures folder under Female01. Comparativly: This shows that the main head textures are in a more complicated folder structure. -------------------- Ben Sanders
