I am running a contest for new users. The user has to have downloaded Moviestorm version 1.3 beginning March 31, 2010. They do not have to be a subscriber. Films can be made with any content packs you have. All work must be original, including music (although of course you can use the Moviestorm music content packs) or if you get written permission from the musician to use his/her music. No mods to be used.
The prize will be a one year subscription to Moviestorm. Movies can be 5 minutes or shorter in length and the theme is comedy. The judges: Geoffrey Zimmerman - He is a published author and is a wonderful writer. He was a producer for Miami Vice. http://geoffreyzimmerman.com/ Robin Morningstar -- script writer, director, producer, actor and he has made several independent films (among them Wonder Boy). Currently he is working Chakan the Forever Man http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2072916/ Richard Poshard - script writer and film maker, he has an extensive background in theater. He is the author of The Man from Schenectady http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3829259/ Ann Otto - a published author who has worked professinally as a writer all her life. Myself - Lucinda McNary There may be two more judges but I have yet to hear from, them. So get started on your movies and make sure you post your movie link in this thread so we can keep track of them. The contest will run until September 20, 2010 which gives you plenty of time to come up with a movie. What are you waiting for, MAKE US LAUGH! -------------------- |

That sounds very exciting!
I had to look up Labor Day as here in Europe it's May 1st, and I assume that you mean the Labor Day in the USA on September 6, right? |

Thanks for the confirmation Lucinda
I hope that I can come up with a funny story idea, and submit something. Btw, can a user submit more than 1 movie? Just in case... |

That's an excellent idea Lucinda.
I hope you get lots of entries, and that we get to see some great films being produced. Lux -------------------- "Les miroirs feraient bien de réfléchir un peu plus avant de renvoyer les images" : Jean Cocteau

Thank you. Yes this should inspire them to make movies and also participate more in the forums. I'll offer 1000 points for 2nd place.... 500 points for 3rd... or if you feel a different combination would be better? Let me know... I personally learn so much entering contests... hopefully more people will give it a go? -------------------- |

What a great offer, Celestina
I'm currently always low on points, so even if I won 2nd or 3rd place, it would be helpful for me Thanks for your reply, Lucinda! Yes, I do plan to submit something, it's really a lot of fun to realize your ideas with MS, and to figure out workarounds for missing features/animations |

Great, we look forward to seeing your submissions. You sound like a real artist -- finding workarounds for missing features and animations. Actually that really helps in the long run as it is a challenge and it makes you use your head. -------------------- |

Hi Lucinda,
I've got another question: Is it allowed to use backdrops with images on it to simulate backgrounds (e.g. sky or buildings in the background) to make the default green hills in MS disappear? |
