Hi all, I've just picked up one these. with the accessory kit

http://ryansloan.net/2010/09/02/zoom-h1-review/

Its a fantastic portable device that records in true stereo at 96kHz 24bit recording format (thats better than most built in soundcards on a standard PC or laptop).

10 hours battery life and file transfer straight to PC means you can record anything anywhere and edit on your computer whenever your ready.

This is going to be a fantastic piece of kit for moviestorm users as the recording quality is spot on.

Admittedly the price is little steeper than a usb mic, I got mine for £89 from amazon. the accessory pack is £29 but you get quite a few useful extras (wind shield, case, usb cable, battery charger, mic clip adapter and a table top stand)

cheers

Hi Neut,

I was contemplating making a post like this. Again, you beat me to it!

Things like this come in VERY handy... being able to go over to a friend's house to have them record a part (when they don't have a PC, or have a PC and they're recording "ablilities" aren't quite what you need) is very convenient. That, and recording your own foley sounds greatly improves a vid you are working on... (rather than) being stuck with what you can record at your desk or find on the Internet.

I picked up a nice little Sony mic-recorder at an office store that is about as expensive (I use rechargeable batteries), it is small enough you can carry it around in a pocket (you see reporters shoving them in folks' faces for interviews nowadays) and then pull it out to record various sounds you think might come in handy. Nice tool for folks!

The next big thing: MOVIESTORM!

Lol ... Sorry about that Fulkster tongue.gif. I think I know the Sony one your talking about I think they're similar spec to the H1. I was just thinking that another good use for them could be that you record your vodkas in the environment that you have in moviestorm cafe, town, country side etc
