What are the chances anyone is working on doing a dove animation based on the raven one?

I have a poem I've been wanting to do a video for for a few years now but it needs a dove before I can even consider starting it.
Sango: "If it was really a miracle everyone would have been saved."

Vargas: "But if everyone was saved how would anyone know it was a miracle."

I don't remember what the Raven looks like in MS. but u might be able to get a way with making the Raven look like a dove, by changing the textures from Black to white. depending on how accurate u want it, the only problem I see is that the ravens beak is longer.

I'll have to play around with gimp on that when I get home.
The DDS file is a work of art. Might be difficult changing it without making the dove look washed. I don't want to do that.

I've never done this so I'm curious how I would go about having the dove texture selectable from MS so I don't need to swap files back and forth on my HD.

Also, there are two DDS files that each hold the texture with color, one 256/256 and the other 512/512.
The only difference I can see imagewise is the resolution.

One is Raven_Diff.dds (512) and the other Raven_Spec.dds (256)

And a third file Raven_Norm.png which appears to be a height map though I'm not sure.

I don't expect the heightmap would help me here unless there is a way to shorten the beak using it.

I could use gimp I'm guessing to edit specific colors in the two image files but matching may be difficult and I just noticed the lower res one leaves have a difference about the eyes.

One is the diffuse texture, and the other one the specular texture.

The "norm" is the bump map so you don't need to change that one. I think it would be easier to create a new bird and animate it but I just don't have time to do it right now. Do you do any modding?

No. I've converted a few items from sketchup for use in my videos but so far I've been unsuccessful and bringing an original creation over to MS. Haven't really spent much time on that end. Too few hours in the day and I'm a working man.smile.gif

Well a dove would be easy to do. I will do one maybe this weekend. Almost finished post production for The Man from Schenectady and then starting on Vautrin but since I have to make a ton of props and sets for Vautrin, I will be doing a lot of modding over the next few weeks so doing one more won't be that difficult.

Cool! But will it fly?

Sure it will fly. It will have motion and you just move it to where you want it to go, just like an airplane but the wings will flap.

If you can do this it will be awesome but let me be specific what I need the dove to do, (if you can't do it yet or its too much, no problem):

I need it to slowly flap for gliding around a puppet, and I need it to flap in a manner similar to the raven when its coming in for a landing.
It doesn't need to actually land or take off for this but if you do it others may need that.smile.gif

I'll work on that tomorrow. Almost finished with one of the main sets for Vautrin, The University of Nanjing in Nanjing, China era 1937 and it is going easier so I think I will work on animals tomorrow.

Here is a picture of the DOVE. Animating the dove today.

I made this mesh myself. It took me all day and most of the evening to do. I could have just gotten one from free 3ds models but I wanted to learn to do it myself and although it takes time, it isn't that hard to do. Just tedious work.

I just redid the model and it is much better now. Sometimes it isn't until you get a model into Moviestorm that you find the flaws, but it won't take me any time at all to animate it.
