Recent movies

Is the recent movie list not updating any longer?  It only shows movies from 140+ days ago but I know others have been added since (I've added one myself).  

Expression improv suggestion

To make dealing with crowds a bit easier, and to augment the gesture improvs to add naturalism, I think it would be great to also randomly generate facial expressions in the same way in a similar interface.  You would have each of the 6 facial expression categories, and you'd set the frequency status of each like you do with gestures (50% happy, 10% angry, etc), and then the facial expressions would randomly generate within those parameters.  In terms of the length of the transition from face to face, maybe it just sets a natural 2 second transition time.  Just as with gestures, you'd be able to disable the function for certain characters and you'd be able to retake all the expression improv.

The "retake all improv for this character" option is very useful.  It would also be great to have a "retake improv for all characters" option in that same menu.   I know we can enable and disable improv for all characters, but even when doing that it doesn't regenerate all the improv it just toggles on or off the previous improv set.   It'd be useful for handling larger numbers of characters.

Shadow woes

Hello --


I have never been able to get shadows to work properly in MS.   All of ym shadows show as big boxes.   I have read about other users having this problem and it was suggested that the video card drivers are out of date.  I've updated mine to the most recent release but the shadows are still blocks.     I've tried each shadow map quality setting.   Even when I just put on object on the set, its shadow shows incorrectly.


Another user told me that this is a MS bug and doesn't have anything to do with my card.   If that's the case, is there some remedy I can try?

A note for Mac users

For Mac users out there, you may already be aware of this but I thought I'd post a note about it in case some don't.


I have been experimenting with rendering multiple MS movies simultaneously.   I've been able to render three high-poly movies at once by changing the system default using the command prompt allowing you to open multiple instances of a program.   This has been a huge help for me as I use lots of green screen layers of a movie for external assembling, enabling me to work 3X faster.     


I believe on a windows machine, 32 bit mode and 64 bit mode are separate processes and the OS switches from one to the other when 32 bit processes are needed.  On a mac it seems that new instances of a 32 bit application creates new virtual 4gig memory allotments for each process, rather than share a single 4gig memory allocation.   


I am doing this on a macbook pro with a 1 gig dedicated nvidia 650m card, 16 gigs of RAM, and quad cores running Yosemite.


Here's the line command to enter in Terminal:


open -n /Applications/ApplicationName.app



[I'll add that I know this behavior is not officiall supported by MS, so try it at your own risk, and make backups!:)]
