Hi filmers
Just received a nice tip from Hitfilm
Their Win & Osx version 3 is now out for free .
You only have to open an account.
As a Hitfilm 2 user i grabbed this chance.
But not without letting you in on this.

Noticed that the old FX seem to be available but
appararently not everyone. So one has to buy the newer packs via in app purchases.
So not entirely free, no.
But fun to try and experiment.

After I had a go at the feature set I went out and bought the $300 Pro edition. It's effin' amazing.
Unfortunately, it looks like everything that floored me about Hitfilm wasn't part of Express, so I don't really know how much of an endorsement that is. I can say, however, that compared to products like After Effects, etc. it's worth every penny, especially now that Adobe's gone to their yearly subscription model. Full license for Hitfilm 3 Pro is less than a years' sub for After Effects.
Even so, the base Hitfilm editor is fantastic; multiple tracks, wipes, great interface and organization. Much more flexible than the Cutting Room in MovieStorm or even other programs I've used like AVS4YOU or Windows Movie Maker/iMovie.
For free, there's no reason not to give it a whirl. If you really like it, I would totally get a copy of Pro and support the team. They're doing amazing work.
