
Alternatives to Moviestorm?

It sounds like you've have a good look around already. I wish the owners of this software would update what they have, as it is easy to use and not too expensive.

It might be worth looking at the Puppet Master app for iPad, it lets you animate any image using Mocap via your built-in camera. Depends on what you are wanting to do but it might have some potential.
But in answer to your original question the answer is No.
iClone is a far more powerful animation tool but become hugely expensive very quickly (I know - like many other people I have used it) and if you think the MS learning curve is steep, you'd better dig out your mountain boots for iClone
There is still nothing on the market that has Moviestorm's combination of capabilities, cost and shallow learning curve. However, some people consider any learning curve too steep.
