Moviestorm website updates

There should be a small amount of downtime on our main website and on the movie pages, and a longer downtime on our forums.
Further progress updates should be available on Twitter @Moviestorm https://twitter.com/Moviestorm and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Moviestorm, while the forums are unavailable.
These changes mean that it will not longer be necessary to remove the Movie hosting service (as had previously been described in http://www.moviestor...showtopic=14501 ).
We will, however, be withdrawing the Moviestorm wiki, although the modding related content it has is now available here: http://www.moviestor...dding_from_wiki

If you can see this, things are progressing well.

Forum and website upgrade now done - it should all be running on different servers now (which should be much easier to replace in future if they have any hardware problems).
Please let me know if there is anything specific not working correctly for you.
Especially with the new forums.

Thank you, Ben. You've done an excellent (and quick) job.
BTW I do love the new look. Very nice.

Wow, look at this! A brand new home, yay
Is there a link to the movies page somewhere on the forums?

You can hover over anyone's name and click on 'View Channel' to see their channel.
I could put in a more direct link, though, if it would help.

I've found the link to the Community page and the Dev Blog on the old forums helpful. But basically I could also just bookmark them

Known issues now include:
- 'Movies' link on forums goes to http://www.moviestorm.co.uk/communityrather than http://www.moviestorm.co.uk/community/ - this results in some broken links from that page if using Chrome (although it seems to be fine on IE or Firefox).
- Newly uploaded movies don't appear to have thumbnails. Need to investigate further from my end.
- Login duration (possibly when logging in via the forums?) does not keep one logged in for very long.

I've made a fix to the thumbnail generation, and changed the 'Movies' link at the top of the forums to link to the right community page. I might have fixed the forum login duration, but I'm not quite sure. Please let me know if problems are ongoing.
It's also possible now to re-generate thumbnails for past movies that did not get a thumbnail - let me know the movie id (shows up in the url when you are looking at the movie) and the time in seconds through the movie you want the thumbnail to come from.

I am not seeing any change in the login problem with Chrome, Ben. If I close Chrome without logging out and with "Remember me" ticked I still get logged out of the Forums.

Is your Chrome set to 'keep local data only until you quit your browser' under Settings - show advanced settings - the in the privacy section click 'content settings' button? Once I set that, it behaves like you describe. If that is the case, and you generally want to not keep cookies, you could add an exception for moviestorm.co.uk to keep the cookies from us across sessions.

I have [*.]www.moviestorm.co.uk set to "Allow" but it doesn't solve the issue I'm afraid.

That might be it - Moviestorm stores its cookies under moviestorm.co.uk, rather than www.moviestorm.co.uk
Try setting [*.]moviestorm.co.uk as the allow, instead.

That seems to have done the trick, thanks Ben
