The future is most certainly steam. Let the Luddites protest, but I for one will embrace this exciting future!

It is suppose to be included in the next major update if there are no problems preventing it.

It seems like the last news was shooting for the end of this year or beginning of next year.

Hopefully Amos or someone will see this and give us an update on the status of the update.smile.gif

What are the odds, I learned what Luddites were mere hours ago...

Were you able to get any info?

I find that a pointy stick is often useful in such interrogations. smile.gif

Yup...sitting next to the fire, roasting marshmallows on the end of a pointy stick... blink.gif

Our intern, Ivan, has been taking a look through some of the new features that the next version of Moviestorm will offer, and has created a short video showcasing some terrain created with the new Terrain Editor tool. You can take a look at this video over on the dev blog, and please feel free to post any comments you may have.

It looks fantastic! can't wait for its release.

I'm going to throw a wild guess out that they are tantalizingly close to a release but they have a small problem they need to iron out first. Either its something critical to the release or something that would really raise the bar for MS potential.

Amos is usually very forthcoming about this stuff so I'm guessing its big...REALLY big...UNBELIEVABLY BIG!!!

Now he HAS to tell us something in order to burst the illusion and avoid shared responsibility for the numerous
suicide attempts by disillusioned MS fans when the product cannot live up to the hype.smile.gif

Hi folks. You know if you keep pushing for details of upcoming features, there will be no surprises left when we do announce the launch date! wink.gif

Here's another little taster for you in the meantime:

Mmmm.... does that mean we can see 'Sims 2 and Sims 3' like features from the community?

So all the imporved cutting room stuff sounds great and videos playing back on surfaces with sound, but does this mean Moviestorms default render will use this new format instead of its current mpeg/avi thing?

and if so, how will this affect the various external editors people use, Vegas already has issues with importing the MS format, do you think the major video editors will be able to read this new format....?

Hi Daleh,
WebM should load into most external editors with no problem, but just in case people have difficulties we are keeping the old video format in the program under the "Custom Settings" for those that prefer it.
